Sandow to leave the bunnies

Is it Craig Gower or Brett Finch to the Rabbits for next year???

That's the devil or the deep blue sea isn't it?

Really had enough of this crap with players signing for next year before this year is even half over. This type of stuff doesn't happen in any of the major sports in the USA, so why does it happen in the NRL, which is a much smaller sport? I don't see why the NRL can't introduce a transfer system so that if a player wants out he can go NOW. No one wants to watch a guy running around for their team while already having the knowledge that he won't be there next year. If they're thinking of leaving they should be sent packing straight away.

Massive loss for Souths.
Mortimer sucks so bad, now he gets to play outside him instead of Sutton.
Oh well… all the best to him, where would he be without footy.
That is the positive side of it, he's making mad stacks now but the Eels are such a pez team.
Pff

Maybe everybody's looking the wrong way.
Souths like to look after the indigenous boys if they can - their target might be Lui and not Moltzen.

@you know who said:
Parramatta will announce today that they have signed Souths Half Back fro three years for $1.2 million, does that mean that Finch is coming back to play for South Sydney under Michael McGuire???

Yes word around says Finch will be returning to NRL to join Bunnies and don't be surprised if either Lima or Hoffmann also signs with Bunnies

I find this very amusing.

Here is a club that wants to buy big names like Burgess, Inglis, Taylor, Asotasi, Crocker. And then when they can't keep a player who has been in their system they carry on like my 2 year daughter when she doesn't get her own way.

Perhaps they should stop raiding other clubs until they sign up the players they have developed.

Geez, last year he and Sutton were considered by many to be the worst halves combo in the comp, now Sandow is gonna earn $550K a season!! I wonder what Parra would've paid for a really good half

I don't rate Sandow that highly, but he is better than Robson and Mortimer, so I guess it's a good aquisition for Parra, although if they paid more than about 250k a year it's overs.

yes it does, players even get transferred during the season, quite alot actually.

soccer has 2 transfer windows, maybe that would work, but does anyone really care??? i think the talk about contract and alike is publicity which is good for the game

Is that serious about the money??? $550k??? I know there aren't a lot of halfbacks going around, but that's way too much for someone who's fairly inconsistent.

Well, it's Parra's money, not ours, good luck to Sandow, he would have been mad to say no to that.

Parra are imbeciles if they paid that much for Sandow . 3 x Sandow isn't worth $550 k

I'm not talking about players being traded and transferred during the season. I know all about that. I'm talking about a player agreeing to play for another club ten months ahead of time. That's the thing I hate, and which doesn't happen in the major sports overseas. Can you imagine what would happen in the EPL if Rooney or Drogba announced eight weeks into the season that next season they'll be playing for Liverpool? There's no way the fans would stand for that.

Just to add, I don't have a problem with Sandow leaving the Rabbits. It's just the fact that we already know now, in freaking MAY, that he'll be playing for the Eels next year. Hopefully the independent commission can fix the problem and implement a transfer window, possibly to come into effect in October. There should also be a transfer window during the season, which would end maybe around round eighteen after Origin is over.

I have too much time on my hands sometimes.

Goes to Click goes the Shears, the Parramatta club song.

You'll hear a tremendous roar go up as parra take the field
Just look at the blue and gold of the SANDOW eels
He’s running out the victors song and kicking up his heals
He’s just met his Alan Bond and signed a four year deal
Flick goes the money into Sandow’s hands
Souths are mad and left with lowly Sutton in their band
They played it slow and offered less, that’s no way to win
And when they lost the race, you could hear their owner whinge
[Chorus]
Good on ya SANDOW you’re brave and bold.
Parramatta seem to think
You’re worth your weight in gold.
And when you see the Rabbitohs walk slowly from the field
You did it for your family son, so what is the big deal.

Brilliant PP exactly right as well Gotta good laugh

A bit of the ol' pot calling the kettle black here regarding Shane Richardson. Whinging about Parra paying massive overs to "steal" away Sandow.. hasn't that been the South Sydney playbook for the past six years?

*cough* *cough* INGLIS CROCKER TAYLOR BURGESS ASOTASI *cough*

thats a pretty big cough ive got right there….
