Santi

santi is a good player who I think will keep improving but we have so many good players coming through the system .I think he is more a mark o'neill type of player do a lot of mop up work

He will be a good player but we have better players who offer more. That is the point I'm trying to make.

IMO Santi will be better than Fulton was

That is a big statement.

It is TITG but I think he could be a real goodun' if we give him the chance.

He has to demand that chance, on what he is currently offering i just cant see him reaching the heights expected of him.

Solid player. starter in an average team bench player in a good one. Thats my take on him.

looks fringe player at best.

as for who should sub taupau,it should be lodge when back to fitness.
would give us a relentless 80mins from the lock position.
ava, buchanan, lodge and pick whoever else for the bench.

Good call. Taylor could probably rotate the last bench spot between Lovett and Liolevave to gradually build up their experience.

He is Mathew Groat all over again. Give him the boot.

No one is a Matthew Groat, except Matthew Groat.

Thank God for that!

Whenever I'm watching with the tigers supporters and particularly lumbering forward is spotted, they are described as "Groatesque".

Interestingly enough matt goat was in the crowd at the tigers v dragons game in round 2\. I thought he was playing in England? Does anyone know, has he retired?

It was announced he's signed for Salford, but I think there may have been visa issues?

Still only 23\. Could make a Cashmere-like return to the NRL yet.

I think Santi's potential is huge. He is a workhorse and reminds of Nathan Hindmarsh (in the middle of his career).
He is not polished yet but he is far better than Lodge and nowhere near as mistake riddled as Sitaleki.

Stick with him. He is going to be something.

Better than Lodge? Not from what I've seen. Nowhere near it.

Absolutely dreaming.

Lodge is a future rep and a damn good player

Santi will develope into a useful nrl player,he just needs some time and experience in first grade…

He seems to be a workhorse and also may need some confidence.......

Is there an echo?

echo echo echo..Lodge is the next Lodge in the making…

I'd be giving Santi a stint in State Cup...getting him playing 80mins...looked gassed for his short time on the field Friday....

Far better than lodge. And Ita Buttrose is far hotter than Elle Mcpherson.

I reckon Santi is going ok.
He made one error last week and missed one tackle this game. Both ended up being costly, but lets face it, everyone makes mistakes, he is being scape goated unfairly IMO

Lovett is pushing hard to make the top 17, but he is an edge player. Santi is playing as the middle reserve. The only way Santi misses out is if they push Sue to the bench to become the middle forward reserve and Lovett to start on the right edge.

Given what Sue offered in the middle might on friday might not be a bad idea. May be worthwhile at least until Lodge comes back.

Santi is a far superior player to Akoula who makes way too mistakes and is a very por defender and at this stage is still ahead of the youngsters Liovale and Funaki (who will prob go past him in the next year or so)
