Saturday punt

It's not easy to miss. Basically a punter will readily tell anyone who will listen of his wins but never the losses. Everyone is in the same boat there though.

I would go further and say the success rate increases exponentially after the event..

I was on De Little Engine , see the like on Ink's post and mentioned Milanese Girl and Inside Agent before races were run

Was going well until about 2.30 when nabbed the Fecta in BR 4 and then think I had two place getters afterwards

I'm very superstitious , have noticed when I put a tip out there they rarely win , they seem to go far better when I stay silent

I'm down around $30 , really regretting not backing Awesome Rock It got me out of the pootang last Melbourne Cup day , just hasn't been running well

Haha yeah I'm the same…. I'd prefer to keep all my losses to myself, it's hard enough me knowing about it than telling everyone

I tipped the winner of the Melb Cup, modestly $20 ew. I did this after watching the preview on Ch 7 earlier in the day where they showed the last starts for all horses, with a little analysis. Almandin looked a strong run over 2500m.

After the fact I went online to see what the experts picked: there are spreadsheets and punting moots and analyses and 6+ horses thrown up every time, hardly anyone putting Almandin up front.

My reasoning was sound, but in reality I just got lucky from 20 mins of research.

I just can't get into punting on horses - you can't get inside their heads like people, they are totally inconsistent and there is too much information, too many combinations of horses, injuries, jockeys, courses, trainers etc. to try and follow.

The people who really know what they are doing make small margins over many thousands of bets, and generally don't tell anyone how they do it.

I'm sticking to punting on NRL myself - always a two-horse race and even favourites are $1.85\. You show me a horse race with two horses, where one of them pays $1.85.

My biggest concern yesterday was in regards to Our Boy Malachi , the jockey literally pulled up after passing the winning post and jumped off

Haven't heard anything yet

Took some risks with good horses in bad barriers and didn't pay off Bidii Babe , Powerful Saga

Few jockeys need to be shot after their rides , Vadamos and Rose of Man in particular

My apologies , totally forgot to mention Madotti had its 1st Sydney run yesterday …........

But then again I would of mentioned Vienna Queen as well LOL

Few picks with some value attached

Brisbane Race 5 8 Double Superlative

Brisbane Race 9 River Racer

Sydney Race 6 6 Bachman

Sydney Race 8 5 Rageese

Anyone got anything else of value today ??

Brisbane race 3- 7 win and bris race 6- 1 eachway think both will win, but will give u a great sight. cheers good luck all.

Just a reminder to the horse buffs among us that the family has 2 horses running today at the Gold Coast , Madotti which will go close to starting favourite along with Pepperano and in the 2 yo Magic Millions they have Saxton Rock

It will put up a far better showing than the odds show , it hasn't had much luck in it runs so far and has been looking for the extra distance

Don't put the house on it , but it reminds me of an early Madotti and Madotti ran an unlucky 4th at long odds as well in its MM

"Go close", " hasn't had much luck" and "unlucky"….... essential words of a punter!

First time I've backed it FTB

I think Cammy Smith is the jockey so it should win by the length of the straight

Madotti got up so I'm already up a bit

Bout time it won youve tipped it to us half a dozen times

Nah that would of been the Vienna's Queen and Royale

Madotti's won a few times after I've let the Forum know , probably 3 times now

It won in it lead up to the MM last year I definitely told you guys , it paid $9 that day

Must say I've never witnessed one of them red-arsed baboons riding a horse before, sounds like a hoot.
