games at SFS are just like games at LO they are easy to get to for balmain fans as where it takes people from Macarthur at least an hour to go a "home" game. is it any wonder people from macarthur are starting to abandon WT due to the lack of respect they get off the club

Man…. Must suck to be live in the outer West?? AN HOUR!!... You poor things...
I on the other hand, travel from Canberra to EVERY home game (No Matter where it is) and the majority of away games to "Support" the Tigers, That's right... I support them, Weather or not they play in my front yard!!
Seriously.... You guys will whinge about anything!!

Well said batboy! Some of these rsponses do nothing achieve little apart from highlight the selfish brain dead attitiude of some.

Reading your thought was a refreshing angle on a topic which holds little value

and of course these will get deleted because they hit the nerve of the in crowd on this forum just like yours was batboy

The discussion in this thread has been excellent until now. You all know the rules about trolling. Lets keep the intelligent discussion going.

Just to re-iterate, a certain member has been deliberately trolling in this thread and was asked not to. Let me be clear, the next person who makes a deliberate trolling post in this thread is going on mod-review.

This thread is not about Balmain despite one ignorant twit trying to stir up the hornets nest yet again.

Again, read the thread title and galahs original post and stick to the topic. Off-season or not, I'm not going to tolerate half wits trying to derail this topic.

I`m pretty sure he got paid to play for Harold Matthews for Parramatta, the Wests Magpies don`t have the funds to pay players at that age.

To be honest I'm not sure I want to go down the road of paying 13-14 year olds money to play the game. For every Jarryd Hayne there are a stack of other players who go nowhere, possibly because the concept of playing for fun rather than money is sucked out of them at too early an age.

Balmain did (or may still do) the same type of thing. Well at least I believe they did/do. When I was playing Nth Sydney juniors back in the late 80s we were told a very large stocky player (the dominant guy in the comp) was leaving NS Brothers to play in the Balmain comp. He was 12 or 13 at the time. Lost to them 7-35 in the GF with him, won 40-0 first game next year without him. I wish I could remember his name…

Lets not make it a Balmain v Wests thing.
We know we need to have games in the inner city for the corporate $'s
We know we need to have games in the South Wests to please the large rugby league population

so…. 6 games for the inner city, 6 games for the South West.
\
\
For the south west, we choose 6 games at Campbelltown Stadium
\
\
\
now where do you want your 6 inner city games?

Fairs fair right?

Maybe the Campbelltown Council should put up some guarantees like the SCG Trust do?

If the Wests Tigers have a guaranteed threshold to play games at Campbelltown, I'm sure they would play more games there. At present, the crowd averages at Campbelltown are lower than SFS & Leichhardt so it would be a poor business decision to move 6 games out on the edge of the never never land…

Good point Watto. If the Tigers sold out Campbelltown on a regular basis then 6 home games would be a viable option. As it is they don't sell the place out and unless there's some sort of financial guarantee such as the SFS offers, it really does make it difficult for the Tigers to play more games there.

Do we have to go around this circle again and again? The "commercial games" are separate from the "traditional games". The SFS games are played there to make money just like the games at Homebush (hardly inner city) were plus the games in NZ and Gosford.

This sort of provocative posting just leads to a page of pot shots.

Choice of opposition at campelltown always has an impact on crowds numbers. Scheduling (not always in WT control) can also affect crowds. If 4 less then ideal games (opposition & timeslot) then campbelltown stadium will always rate poorly in the statistics.

every game at campbelltown last season from what i recall was at night and its cold as buggery in campbelltown at night in winter

Nothing we can do about that

There needs to be more Sunday arvo footy at C'town. Didn't play 1 day game there last yr, and already the first game there is on a Monday night against a non-Sydney team who missed the 8 last yr. I know Fox are the ones who make the decision, but the Tigers do have the right to tell the NRL their preference for what timeslot they would like

Actually it's not that bad just put the long johns on and wear a warm coat and it's great being out in the crisp cool air on a dry night- no problems and when we are winning you don't notice the cold at all.
