No, Sheens doesn't deserve any criticism at all for selecting 2 backs on the bench against 1 of the biggest forward packs in the comp that left our forwards out on their feet 10 mins into the second half. Nah he doesn't deserve any of it, its all on the players. Some people will just defend the man no matter what

some people will stick the boot in no matter what…

do you think sheens doesn't know football a 1000 times more then we do...

Don't jump on the winning wagon later then

As long as we play two backs on the bench there won't be any winning wagon

Sticking the boot in no matter what is whinging when when we are winning, not criticising when we are losing. If i think we are crap i'll call it like i see it, something you obviously have trouble doing . Praise them when they play well and give it to them when the situation warrents it, and tonight is one of those situations. Its all apart being a passionate supporter. P.S don't be scared to let out a little frustration when the situation calls for it. No one will think any less of you as a supporter, well no one with a brain anyway

It doesnt bother me if people think im not a supporter..i know better…im not saying i lovemy team anymore then anyone else either.

Yeah the criticism is one dimensional ...its always sheens around this place....you would love someone like me on your team in a fight i wont go running and leave you for dead when we behind.you on my team i would worry.

I know what you say about 2 backs on the bench...but i refuse to say sheens wouldn't know anything we know and therefore there must of been a reason

How is standing with you in a fight relavent here? have i said i give up on them or that i'm abandoning them? No. I'm simply calling what i saw last night crap, and there are a lot who agree

If people think Miller was the reason for that inept performance. Those same people should start posting their solutions.

Serious? So you think if I cam up with solution, Sheensy will read it and say "Yeh, thats not bad, lets do it!"

Honestly, Sheensy really has to think about dropping a couple players and make them work for first grade position.

Too many of them know they can play without desperation and they will still be on the starting side next week.

Ashford, for eg, isnt playing up to standard. There was talk end of last year how he might break into rep footy this season, but he has not shown any of those qualities this year. Neither has Lawrence, who is a current rep….doubt he will make SOO or the Aussie squad, and if he does, its only because of Sheensy rather than form.

Benji is also playing a different style of footy - the first chip kick last night. I seldom see him carry the ball for a run and do his stepping magic anymore.

Groat has to be dropped.

Sure, seems like many in the team need replacement, but would you rather have backups ready by gaining some experience, or same players week in week out who dont perform?

Sheens has past his used by date, picking 2 fullbacks on the bench to take on one if not the biggest pack in the comp is laughable, picking Fulton at hooker compounds the stupidity, the players are not having a go bar a few,and the coach is not having a go either.

To throw my two bob's worth in you'd have to think that Sheens is concerned with the health of one of the backs to be picking one in last night's game with the players we had out I know in the past he has picked backs on the bench but with Farah out also there must be another reason .

say it as it is:
_annoyed, pissed off, angry, disappointed with performances so far._
in saying that, I would not follow any other team
expectation leads to disappointment.
this is very evident now.

wests-tigers will make top 6 maybe even top 4.
whilst the present situation is not acceptable,or easy to tolerate, the wins will start from sunday, and so will the teams confidence.

There is definately an internal issue in the squad, and I'm sick of people saying 'that's only because we are losing'.
Last year same thing happened, there were issues but the team got together and played for honour of the players leaving…They won nine in a row but were too exhausted to go all the way. Pre season they recruited players incase of injuries that has been obviusly a shamble as the last four games have shown. This year they got no drive or reason to play there is definatally infighting going on and it is pathetic. All this choping and changing of players will do no good, it's about attitude, far out unless your blind you can tell there is non communication between the team and no heart. We have the flamboyance and skill to get in the semis lately but as usual we do not have consistancy because there mind frame is not there and that's why melbourne, manly are consistent. Bellamy or Hasler would not tolerate bullshit.
Sheens is bloody hopless, it is so basic:
1\. Structural defence like in 2010, play safe such as 5th tackle options, keep opponent in there half.
2\. Only play flamboyant style once we have a comfortable lead or, do or die situations. (Marshall)
3\. Run the ball aggressivelly first three tackles if in there half try the marshalls or farah kicks if in our own half play the long kicks.
4Make no kindergarden errors.
5\. Our strength for the last two years was to run aggressivelly through the ruck make our opponents tired and by the 60th minute outleash our attack.
Sorry just frustrated............

I don't know why this thread has turned completely into a Sheens bashing. There are enough threads for that. I think the bashing should be spread about:

My hard truth of 'the way it is':
-Groat has to go. He can't tackle properly. I like him, but at the moment he is a bit of a liability.
-I think Blair is a real so-and-so for playing like this - he is so much better and is just taking the p!ss. I was happy when we signed him, now I am angry.
-Having no halfback is a real problem, though happy to keep trying Miller - he's got pep and potential.
-Moltzen has been next to useless.
-Farah's been too quiet so far.
-Not giving Benji the ball until the last tackle is RIDICULOUS. He should touch the ball 2-3 times in every set , at least! I'm a massive Sheens fan but dammit man give Benji the friggin pill!
-and Sheens what the hell was playing Meaney all about? Seriously? Why did we get rid of Mullaney?!! What the?

- Finally , **Major Problem** is giving away dumb penalties in defence that get our opponents out of their own half. This cost us badly against the Dragons and the Raiders and I really think it was a main reason we lost. Sheens cannot be blamed for ineptitude and mindless plays by immature players. Top teams don't do dumb things like that - repeatedly.

Having said all the above:
-Woods is good and runs the ball well. I've become a fan.
-Ellis is awesome.
-Ryan is a credit.
-Galloway (and Dwyer when/if he returns) should make a real positive impact.

Four things that made the scoreline the way it was…. and it wasnt our forwards being dominated, it wasnt miller having a shocker and it wasnt havig two backs on the bench

1\. if benji doesnt do his little chip and chase late in the first half when we are ahead \( my opinion you dont play fancy when your team is down in confidence)
2\. Again a benji kick in thier attacking half and run away 100m intercept to score a raiders try
3\. Moltzen dropping it cold dead (two weeks ina row the poor bugger
4\. lawerences penalty tackle (nothing in it)

All these four points were times in the game where we needed discpline and were arm wrestling, they cost us bad in the game and are what costs us our poor possession rate and missed tackles....all comes down to player discline in myopinion!!

Moltzen to STAY at fullback, no more halves. Two of our slickests tries came when he was creeping up around Marshall on the fly. The same as he did late last year. Miller to stay at half back. Just stick with him. The more times he plays, his confidence will grow. Young Groat back to lower grade. Blair to to stop trying to be a ball player so much and just roll up the sleeves and get stuck in for a while. Couldn't agree more with Marshall getting his hands on the ball more often during the sets. Our centres to have a good hard look at themselves. Turn style defence will just not cut it. Very poor last night, particulalrly from Lawrence. Agree that Woods was a stand out, Ellis ever so reliable and Fulton did a reasonable job filling at hooker. Ryan is playing some of his best football and I think Reddy is proving that he has been a good buy. He's done very little wroing when given his opportunities. Crucial missed tackles cost us dearly last night. Most of the penalties against us were justified. No intensity, no urgency, no passions at all. Horrible to watch sometimes. As much as I hate my team being so poor, I still think there were some positive signs last night.

Its a very simple game that needs to be played that way and everyone knows what you need and what you need to do to get the job done except the odd person like Sheens who wants to try and do it another way.

You need a very strong and aggressive defense
you need forwards that can rip and tear in offense
you need to complete your sets
you need to get your kick
you need a good chase

We dont have the players who have the ability to play that sort of game its that simple.

Since Sheens arrival all those years ago we have had three winning streaks, the rest of the time has been mainly sub standard performances. To be a good side you need to win three games a month over a few seasons.

Seriously we were never in the hunt last night, no-9 no-7 and no-1 but its the way we capitulated that worried me although did not suprize me . Its been said before but maybe this is what we need for the people in power to realize changes need to be made and maybe we need to follow the methods of Ivan Cleary,Bennett,Price,Hasler and Belleamy just to name a few.

Maybe we have a long five years waiting for the next crop of kids to come through the system. The only good thing is through failure often change is forced on to organizations much quicker than normally would be applied. Its time for a few people pulling the strings to take their heads out of the sand

Supercoach Look at the stats I'm amazed we hung in that game as long as we did We had at least 3 last ditch efforts prevent tries We are totally outgunned up front at the moment It is as simple as that

If we can't fix that this is what is going to happen most weeks and people better get used to that we need size on the field and if it was me this week I would start with Woods and Ellis up front if Keefy is not right BMM and Moors as second rowers and Fulton as lock Humble at Hooker

I got bagged when i said we would be getting ready for 2013, 2 weeks ago, can not see any reason to change my 1st remarks. What a disgraceful tackling effort by a 1st grade side, but if it was not for Ellis AND Heigo and Fulton the score could have been anything. And that so called great buy Blair how many tackles did he miss.Moltzon proved beyone doubt that he is not a 1st grade footballer. Yes and why does sheens even need 4 subs when u go into a match against one of the biggest packs with just two forwards, what the hell will souths do to us next week.

Great post son.. :wink:Sheens should give himself a Big Roundhouse kick to the head followed by a few upper cuts from the supporters.Sheens has to go.!!!

Someone told me that the internal problems have been caused by the signing of Blair at the expense of Fifita and Gibbs.

Do not know the truth or otherwise of this statement, however, there is something very very wrong at the club at the moment.

Truth be told, Blair is not doing much to earn his big money. And he is not alone.

Someone earlier in this post stated that Blair, Ashford, Moltzen and Groat should be dropped. Could not agree more.

Is Loti back soon? If so he should go straight in. Although fitness would be a problem. Ryan to fullback, Reddy to partner Lawrence, with Grant outside him. Miller, Marshall in the halves. Bell and Woods in the front row, a hooker from the lower grades to replace Farah, Ellis (God help us when he leaves) in the second row with ?? maybe BMM with Heino at lock (last year for him though)

If Sheens (who seems to have lost the plot) wants a back on the bench, then Humble has shown he can go ok and can play half, fullback and hooker. That leaves three forwards for the bench. Surely there are some big
boppers in the lower grades. They do not need to play 80 minutes but should be rotated properly to give maximum impact and rest.

Anyone who has seen the lower grades know anyone who would fill these positions?

Here we go again. Two backs on the bench to take on the bunnies. I can't see us winning if we keep this up. It's going to be a long year.

To be honest, if you can't say what you feel, your best saying nothing at all. I don't care how extreme you are, everyone's got a say. The only problem I have is when someone takes it personal and attacks the poster. Do people understand, that's what these forums are for. How boring it would be if we all agreed.
