Would love to see him play and get hammered by one of our guys.

SBW has had his fair share of injuries over the years, and I won't be surprised to see him spending a bit of time on the sidelines this year.

He only has 26 games to play for them. He is then going to try his hand at GAY F L. Or something else.

The Roosters will rue their decision to hire this poser.

I am betting they only get 12 games out of him this year.

IT was being pumped up as the most anticipated rugby league trial match since South Sydney were readmitted into the competition in 2002 - but NRL fans will have to wait a couple more weeks to see Sonny Bill Williams' debut for the Sydney Roosters.
>
That was the verdict last night from new Roosters coach Trent Robinson, who said the club's star recruit "won't play" on Saturday night against the Wests Tigers at Allianz Stadium.
>
For the first time in Foundation Cup history, Fox Sports will televise the match live after making the decision to take a punt on this being Sonny Bill's first game back.
>
The Buzz: Sonny's body not up to NRL
>
The Roosters and the Tigers will hold a joint media conference today to announce their teams and a lot was riding on Sonny Bill's fitness.
>
It would have been a ratings winner for Fox Sports and also guaranteed a bumper crowd on Saturday night - possibly one of the biggest ever for an NRL trial.
>
South Sydney hold the trial match record of 36,804 for their Charity Shield return against the Dragons in 2002, while last year's Foundation Cup match at Campbelltown drew a crowd of 7426.
>
It's fair to assume that figure would have been blown away had Sonny Bill played this week, but Robinson wanted to be up front with fans.
>
"He won't play," Robinson said. "I don't want to play cat and mouse with anyone here because there are already too many games going on.
>
"Sonny only starts tackling (today) and then we will get an idea of how strong he is. We will make a call then.
>
"But I would be saying right now that he is not going to be playing this weekend.
>
"If he jumps out of the blocks (today), and he could do, well, that leaves the door slightly open.
>
"But that's the only thing that could change things here, if he does some tackling (today) and (tomorrow) and the (medical staff) say; 'Look, he can play 20 minutes or something'. But we haven't trained this week yet."
>
Robinson said the Roosters are just making sure their star recruit has fully recovered from the pectoral injury he suffered last October. "We are not managing him any different to any other player, we are just managing him based on that (pectoral) injury," he said.
>
"We have to make sure that his outer range is strong enough to tackle.
>
"We are trying to grade him on that every couple of days. He will be ready when he is ready.
>
"He injured it late October and had it operated on early November.
>
"He is coming up to four months which, with this injury, it is usually between four and five months.
>
"I would expect him to be ready for (the season kick-off against South Sydney)."
>
But Robinson said new buy Luke O'Donnell was a chance to play on Saturday night after flying in from England.
>
O'Donnell spent yesterday catching up with his new teammates and could get some game time against the Tigers, who are also one of his former clubs.
>
TAB Sportsbet were quick to jump on the Roosters' impressive trial win over Manly, reeling them in from $13 to $11 in premiership betting, equal with the Sea Eagles on the fifth line.

No longer in doubt…officially out of Foundation Cup.

Chest injury? Yeah, complete lack of heart!

There's an article in the SMH where SBW talks about the possibility of playing World Cup league at the end of this year for NZ, and the progress of his boxing career, and the fact that he wouldn't mind having a go at 7 a side rugby, now it's in the Olympic Games!

Ah, it seems the possibilities are endless!

Benji must really wonder how all this sits with the fact that the Nrl came down all heavy when he was thinking of playing Japanese rugby in the off season.

O'Donnell set for Roosters debut but SBW in doubt

SYDNEY Roosters' latest recruit Luke O'Donnell met his new teammates on Monday and may play in Saturday night's Foundation Cup but there are doubts whether Sonny Bill Williams will also make his NRL return in the match against Wests Tigers.

O'Donnell's arrival from England, where he has already played several games for Huddersfield, coincided with the departure of backrower Anthony Cherrington to Penrith.

Roosters coach Trent Robinson said there was a chance O'Donnell would play in the annual pre-season clash at Allianz Stadium, but he was less sure about Williams.

''He has just got [off] the flight so he will do a bit of running and train with us on Wednesday and we will see how he is,'' Robinson said of O'Donnell.

''He has already played but it would be nice to get him into our structures and that sort of stuff for 20 or 30 minutes.''

Williams had been keen to get one match under his belt before the NRL premiership opener against South Sydney on March 7 but Robinson said he would take no risks with the All Blacks star after he joined the club last week following his February 9 fight against Francois Botha.

''If his tackling is really good and his strength is really good in the next couple of days he is a chance of playing,'' he said.

Ironically, now it looks like Channel Nine will get the scoop of SBW's first game… Considering they are paying his wage, it seems only fair?!

Is it 12 or 24 months we will be subject to this circus?

Pretty right TW.. I hope Sookie Bill gets smashed in every game he plays. I was prepared to give him a go but when he came out with the 'we was robbed' BS after the Mundine fight, well that tore it for me.

what do you mean? he won against botha. Botha had the sook. And Geale won against mundine.

SBW made a Tweet the night of the Mundane Fight stating they dont listen to corrupt judges and he was celebrating a win with Mundane.

Sorry..what I was referring to was Sookie Bill's comment on twitter that (his brother) Mundine was robbed. I didnt watch the fight because I wont subscribe to Mundine. As an aside, I spoke to an Aboriginal friend of mine who knows Mundine. My friend is a retired pro boxer who watched the fight. He said that the first couple of rounds were tight but from then on it was all Geale. My friend said that Geale won easy. If there was any doubt my friend would have leaned towards Mundine, I think. As I stated in the fight thread: it would be nice if Mundine came out of retirment and had a run with his bro at the Rooters this year!
As well as the Tigers, this year more than usual, I will be cheering for any team playing the Chooks.

My prediction of 2013 - Sonny OverBilled Whinger will withdraw from the round 6 clash with the Bulldogs citing injury sustained from carrying his wallet to training! Total tosser!

Shame, I was hoping he would do an ACL and be out for the season (I don't wish injury on any player, but I make an exception for S B W as well as any player found guilty of violence against a woman). I guess he still has a few training sessions to get through.

Wasn't there talk around the time that he signed on with the Roosters for 2013 that his management wanted to include a clause in his contract that he would not be picked to play against the Bulldogs for fear of the feral Dogs supporters giving him a gobfull?

I hope not. The highlight of the season, apart from Robbie holding up the premiership trophy, would be seeing SBW take the field against the Doggies. If he lasted the game he would be a very sick and sorry sight!
