First try will be to Pearce, who scores after backing up a David Klemmer offload.
After that, Benji will put on a kicking clinic and inch our way to dominance through field position. The score will be 0-6 at the 32nd minute, at which time Mikaele will come on and have a stormer. He will get a few quick plays of the ball which lead to Brooks streaming through and setting up Talau. Moses Mbye/Doueihi will miss the kick for goal as usual, leaving the score Wests 4 - 6 Newcastle.
The lacklustre bench will be the undoing of Newcastle. At the resumption of the second half, we will run in two tries before their starting pack return in the 55th minute. By then, the game will be well in our favour. Packer and Aloiai will return around the 52-60 minute marks, and close out the game for us along with Benji's kicking game.
With 10 minutes to go, the score will be 16-6. Despite scoring 4 tries to 1, the margin will only be 10 points. As per usual, Mbye/Doueihi have missed every kick for goal. Newcastle will score in the 70th minute through Blake Green to bring the margin down to 4. 76th minute - PONGA SCORES! They are now in the lead, 18-16.
Unbelievable. WT go with a short kick off with 2 minutes to go. Chris Lawrence goes up and gets the ball for us. We're in this. 79th minute David Klemmer gives away a penalty right in front of the posts from 30m out. A fairly straight forward kick to level up.
Mbye steps up to the plate. Having kicked 0/4, he has the chance to redeem himself by slotting the goal and taking the game to golden point. He smiles, approaches the tee, and would you believe it - he kicks it! The crowd go wild. He has kicked it over the road and into the Maccas. Didn't go between the posts, but yeah. Newcastle win 18-16, despite scoring one less try.
Haha that was a roller coaster read from start to finish
Sadly accurate aswell
