The reffing of the Magpie v Magpie game ruined what was a great game of footy. I don't think there was one set where the ref got the players back the ten. And the inconsistency of the penalties for holding down players in a tackle seemed to favor one side only. Deadset, if they review the tapes of that performance I think the ref will end up reffing 3rd grade ping pong.
Ah well, that is life.
However, I am extremely proud of the boys. They kept putting in and in and in. They tackled their little hearts out from the constant piggy backs the ref gave Wenty.
The only thing I can critisise the Wests performance on was some of the kicks close to the line on the last tackle needed to result in repeat sets. The Wenty backline covered the Magpies kicks with ease. Too many of them were caught on the full without being under pressure, resulting in a 20 meter tap. Probably says more about their ability than our efforts though.
Well done Western Suburbs. I am extremely proud of you!
