Tartak Managed Benji for years if I'm not mistaken....
Fultons relationship with him would be no better than Benji's
- Especially now Benji is a Coach.

Richo's first Power Play backing the coach
I think it's a bit of a mistake having the boys club in charge of absolutely everything
(No accountability in that) - But that seems to be the way we're going...

Richo has always said he is a CEO that backs the coach to pick his team, his staff and gets out of his way.

In a sense, it's quite smart, because if he fails, there are no excuses. I see it as full accountability for Benji. He can't lay the blame on anyone or anything if things go pear shaped.

The board should never have been involved in making football department hires without the coaches sign off. This whole thing was just unnecessary drama due to the unprofessional nature of our board and led by our ex-chairman.

Glad Richo is drawing a line in the sand on all the nonsense and driving a standard at the club. I'm guessing that plenty more heads will roll that won't make the papers.

I like that there's no media statement from the club (so far)...
He's no one, Just an employee - There doesn't need to be one...

The majority of Footy fans know who our recruitment manager is,
I could (at best) Name 3-4 of them at any time in my history of following the game...
They're just back room footy staff, Not relevant to the general population enough to write about.

Dunno how many other clubs would issue press releases for dismissing recruiters....
Usually we would - Hope I haven't spoken too soon.

It's funny though.

Scott Fulton, had.. what I and many would consider, a dream job.

Still had to get his ego involved and run his mouth.

The greatest clean out the club has ever seen.

We should re-hire Jason Taylor just so we can sack him again.

From Pascoe & Lee to Brooks and now Fulton.
Nofo release would really ice the cake.

I hate feeling this way about one of our clubs juniors that is a pretty good player at his best. The best thing would be for Nofo to pull his head in and work hard on his flaws and attributes and become the best player he can be, which is just below origin level. That we get a little back on our Le Nofo Investment, and then for his next contract he takes min from us or moves on to another NRL club, instead of playing out his contract here in angst and in reverse grade and then captain coach of the Campbelltown Condoms.

This Fulton thing has been handled poorly from the start; it doesn’t surprise that Bagypants and Fruit Pascals were the ones doing the handling. They could have at least made a phone call to Benji, the coach who was gunna take over during Fultons tenure, then you have consulted the coaching team. How did the fact that the coaching team wasn’t consulted get leaked anyway? Lee I reckon, big noting himself to someone, “look at me hiring people and I don’t have to consult with anyone!” and Fruit Pascals going “yes Lee, you know it!”

Never understood why people think managers and stuff would make players turn off a club .. it’s a business, I’m sure if they were good mates off the field they can hang out or something

If being at a club with mates mattered that much, Luai would have signed with the Dogs.

Every club is a boys club though . Everyone said the same when Walter’s got the gig at the broncos . That seemed to be a good result there .

I'm sure the Fainu brothers are inconsolable with Fulton's sacking. C'mon, really. They'd be more concerned with playing good footy and their own families rather than the WTs recruitment managers future.

You would hope so, but if that's not the case, show them the door too before they become a cancer inside the club.

Good result....was a cancer in the club in his short time...His leaks to Zorba to undermine the club were amateurish. Another great move by Richo!.

If what you say is true, it was the obvious move. Something obvious doesn’t need to be considered great.

BUZZ BIAS WARNING

Wests Tigers have sacked highly regarded recruitment boss Scott Fulton.

Fulton received a phone call from the club’s chief executive Shane Richardson on Tuesday morning to say his services were no longer required.

Fulton was a controversial appointment by previous management because both former head coach Tim Sheens and new coach Benji Marshall were kept in the dark over his recruitment to the club.

His relationship with Marshall has been strained for several months.

Fulton, however, is a huge loss for the Tigers.

He has a tremendous contact network with player managers and has delivered the highly rated Fainu brothers, Latu and Samuela, from Manly and Jayden Sullivan from St George Illawarra for 2024 season.

The club also signed Panthers superstar Jarome Luai on a five-year deal, $6 million deal from 2025, because the Penrith playmaker had confidence in the roster rebuild that Fulton was overseeing.

He previously played a key role in building the Sea Eagles roster by securing the likes of Haumole Olakau’atu and speedsters Tolutau Koula and Jason Saab to the club.

Fulton declined to comment when contacted by this masthead.

Fulton knocked back offers from two other NRL clubs to join the Wests Tigers because he was excited about the future of the club and the nursery in Campbelltown.

Typical DT bias crap...have another Red Buzz

Very presumptuous to suggest this may be a problem with the players or even Tartak. I for one have never heard of a player leaving due to a recruitment staff member being moved on. Who is to say that Tartak won't get along with whoever takes over that role next. He may find it harder to push other players onto our club, but as for Fainu's, Sullivan, Kit etc, their deals have already been negotiated and signed.

As long as the players are looked after on and off the field i'm sure the player manager and the players won't have any issues.

Probably more to why he was sacked than his personal relationship with Benji...
He's only ever been at Manly (mostly a basketcase)

To go elsewhere and think he's on top of it all is a bit rich...
Running your mouth a bout is a whole other level.

No one to blame but himself, clearly.

Usually better to play your position and try your best, this isn't game of thrones... 😂

My guess is one of Bud or Latu will fall behind in the pecking order after 24 season is over..Tartak will get into their ear and advise there are better opportunities elsewhere to be a starting 6...and at $500k pa for either of them and Galvin coming thru, thats not exactly the worst outcome for WTS!!
