Scotty Prince unwanted at Titans!

Some may argue this point but comparing Lui to Prince two years into their careers I reckon Lui is better!

Just as importantly Lui, like Prince did compliments Benji's game.

It's a hard one with Scott Prince, I mean he is our Clive Churchill medal winning, Premiership winning Captain - I reckon it hurts all WT's fans to see him running around for the Gold Coast.

If he had soaked it up here just for another 5-6 years (not a long time really in someone's life) he would now be considered a legend of the Tigers.

The sad fact is he did leave, and while we want to stop being dissapointed in him perhaps it's trying to shut the gate after the horse has bolted.

Helmesy I don't have an issue he went to Titans
He did what he thought was best for his family in the end(whether that is right or wrong we don't have the right to judge him)
I think it was good for Benji to get away from Princey also
What I disrespected Scott for was he lied to certain members of his family about what he was doing
And lied to his Tigers family about being "brothers for life"

i dont think many people would care what team prince went to it was the fact he dogged it. yeah he may have gone for family reasons but in the end it appears that they rorted the cap for him so it was money he went for more than family. too many players these days use this excuse of family etc for moving here there wherever, some players need to just get their nuts back out of their wives handbags and explain to them that their careers are short enough as it is. if they want to win premierships and are playing at a successful club that they should give them this 10 year period in their lives to play where it best suits them. after that they can go live in africa if their wives/partners want. prince and marshall, possibly one of the greatest halves combinations of recent times that never went the length it should have.

Prince never dogged it at all.
At the time you had 1 maybe 2 marquee players ,Benji and Robbie were Wests so when Prince got offered the world he took it .If my boss had offered me the captaincy,400k,a brand new house on the Gold Coast im pretty sure i would be interested.Scott Prince will forever go down in legend as the captain of the first Wests Tigers premiership.Something ill never forget .

If Lui really is off, and Prince is really out at the Titans- then yes, I'd take him back happily.

Prince can't carry a team on his own- but if he is option 2 or 3…he's still very effective. Good kicking game. Good goal kicker. Familiar with our style of play. Media friendly. What's not to like?

Oh? Hurt feelings from when he left?

Here's betting the players would welcome him back.

I reckon Souths are eyeing off Prince…..but will he come to Sydney??..
I feel for Scotty....he was the Titans marquee player when they started up and obviously the Titans wanted him for life when they re-signed him for 4 more years...so what has happened I wonder?

A bloke came into work the other day{northern new south wales},he was going to do some painting.

He had a gold coast chargers jacket on and I said to him that the jacket dated him.We talked footie for 10 minutes. As it turned out he was a former player who still has connections at the club.

He said that Prince wasn't popular with the other players. He is also injured, they aren't drawing crowds, and they are cleaning out players.

Seems like scott may be a scapegoat.

As for the titans,it seems to be a recurring theme, doesn't it.

Ask Lui to sign contract extension to 2015\. If Lui won't extend, consider him gone and try and lock up Prince cheaply for that period.

We have a window for the next 3yrs after 2011 to win another premiership. Marshall goes better with a dominant 7 like Prince (maybe not as crucial as it was in 2006-2009 when Marshall was still developing).

If Lui goes we are exposed to the risk of Miller coming of age. In reality he is totally unproven and only 50/50 to make it as a first grade 7.

Other option would be to play Marshall at 7 and bring in Sironen at 6 - still a huge risk.

In summary i would rather bird in the hand. If Lui doesn't sign we need to find a 7, but dont pay too much coin for an ageing Prince.

My bet is that if he needs to leave Gold Coast he will head to Souths or UK.

Tigers won't take him back they are still scarred from when he left I heard the word PRINCE isn't allowed to be mentioned at concord

He will be 35 in 2015

As for not paying too much, he is contracted till 2014 with the Titans and I would doubt he would be willing to take a big pay cut to join another club, be it WT or Souths

By the sounds of it Gold Coast would probably be willing to pay some of his salary. Maybe Prince is not the man but we need an established 7 if Lui leaves, otherwise we are too heavily reliant on Miller. First way out is to extend Lui's contract.

Plus they signed Idris - what an over rated lump !

I agree…**IF** Lui leaves(and I hope he doesn't) then as long as the Titans pay for most of his contract I'd take Prince for the next 3 years... he'd be great with Benji(we all know this) and a great mentor for Miller...

Also reading Benji's column yesterday he heaped plenty of praise on Lui...smart play by Benji as I reckon he was buttering up Lui so he can extend!.

would i take him?
NO
why?
-he is at the back end of his career - id rather lui or miller who are only getting started and could be the custodian for the next 5-10 years(prince had his chance to do that)
-i think he would struggle with benji and robbie being number 1 and 2 and him being 3 when he was once number 1
- his career appears to be on the decline
- it would be unfair to lui and miller who deserve their respective opportunity to battle each other and keep the jersey

also judging by timmy it looks as if he wants lui there long term and has put a lot of effort into him.
