I can say truthfully that every non-Tigers support I know, not the world's biggest sample but not insignificant, thinks Tigers have a rubbish roster and over-performed in 2019.

In that respect, I can take my own opinion of pass-mark and give it the credibility that other fans think our roster is ordinary, but the team performed alright.

Especially considering some of the strong rosters that performed very poorly in 2019 - Panthers, Knights, Dragons, Warriors.

How do your mates think the club has performed ?

I just said, over-performed. They thing Tigers are a bottom 4 roster not 9th. They think 9th was a good result compared to the teams near to them like Sharks and Panthers.

Club, not team. How do they think the CLUB is performing over the last few years?

I doubt opposition supporters spend much time thinking about how other clubs are performing off the field. For example, idk how the Dragons are going, and I really don't give a toss.

You give a toss enough to answer a question not directed at you.

the general mentality of tigers fans the past 10+ years is have low expectations because you know at the end of the year you're going to get let down regardless...

That's a bit unnecessary. I was giving you a legit answer. If you were only looking at getting an answer from Jirksyr, then perhaps you should have pm'd him.

It depends on the expectations. If you had us at the start of the year as a bottom 4 side (a lot did) then you should consider the season a success.

Pass - players and coach
Fail - administration - particularly Cleary with Salary Cap management, Home ground scenarios, recruitment

How does the coach get a pass if the admin get a fail? He's intimately involved in salary cap and recruitment, indeed the buck stops with him on that account.

It actually IS that simple.
That's how pass and fail work.

The fact that our own fans won't accept this year as a failure is almost an even sadder failure.
Talk about a losing culture.

Not true, passing and failing are all relative, depends on your bell curve.

Roosters would consider not winning the comp as a failure, whereas we would consider finishing 8th as a pass.

If you have one leg, your running aspirations will be different from someone with two.

Tigers are currently a one-legged side!

Whilst you are one hundred percent spot on Jir, it just would’ve been nice for this to have been our Bradbury year at last.

We almost looked like limping over, really, if not for a momimental blunder in keeping Esan as #1 gk for such a large portion of the year and not having TWO hookers for dogs game - don’t really feel Mbye can be targeted for blame too much in that instance as he felt okay and trainers assured Madge that he’d passed the minimum physical requirements (obviously not stringent enough at our club).

Some of the players didn’t toe the line!

He signed with us late October, not much cap space or roster spots available then. Admin re-signed blokes after the season ended and when it was obvious that Cleary was leaving.

Despite being disappointed af, it's hard to give the season a fail. The squad is mud. I honestly think we had the second or third weakest squad in the NRL, only stronger than the Bulldogs and maybe the Warriors. And before anyone jumps me about the Titans, they have quite a talented roster, but zero cohesion or desire.

Maguire overperformed with a terrible roster, so I suppose I can give him a pass for that.

I’d give Madgic Man a pass and MCK. And Benji. And Brooksy. And Momirovski. And Aloiai... hopefully Matterson is still on this list next year

Michael Chee Kam...great utility but every time he started he missed a ton of tackles and seemed to lack energy. Maybe forever destined to fill the role of a bench player.

Exactly my point. Only did his job as a benchy and out of his depth asked to start.

We’re crying out for a consistent match winner though, sadly seems as if he was the only player to do that for us this year !
