Season 2025 Expectations, Predictions & Key Positions.

Look...

Like I tell my mates, "you did not let her go. SHE LEFT!"

Which is sadly why he did not work here. He never wanted to be here. Paps, may be a good forward... but his agent signed him here for the Paycheck.
Throw that fish back in the ocean.
Love that saying, my favorite though is, She isn't yours its just your turn !

Paps was just displaying Hypergamy.

Honestly mate … I don’t even know with that !
So you think putting players on show in front of the world is a good idea ?
Someone did that to me once . It didn’t end too well for him 30 minutes later .
Well a season of public apologies and grovelling and hasn’t helped us.

I expect a Benji in command next season.

I’m sick of hearing of good things when we’ve played like rubbish.

I can understand the odd indulgence but he looks too comfortable, most of the players know they are a protected species.

Be interesting next season if we are going bad, the pressure will be a lot more closely scrutinized by Richo and the media and see how he reacts then

Nah I don’t think so ! I get the vibe that he’s everyone’s mate until he’s not . It’s probably what pissed off Bateman . It sounds like he’s given the kids a lot of rope and zero rope to the experienced players . And from where I stand that’s the way it should be . Because they’re the ones who had been letting the team down .
Like how many games did Bateman cost us last year with just stupidity . When we were right in it ? Same for Sezer ?
The reality is the senior players as well , like Bateman , are on 800k or something like that . And hitching because the coach lets you know that you are held to a higher standard than the kids because that’s what the moneys for !
I think next season though , it should be everyone’s held to account . And that should be the message .

Agreed . He needs a response in the wins column . I see what he’s been saying about an uplift in other areas that don’t necessarily translate to wisn and losses , but we need more next year .
These types of debates about a failed ex coach are case in point of this . We are all desperate for some wins .

Madge hasn’t won a trophy in 11 years . And the last time he won with a team that Inglis and The Burgess brothers .
I don’t even know why this even being spoken about . It’s literally a waste of time . There’s a reason Tallis went in soo hard against Madge , sure it had grounding in his mate getting the chop , but what he was saying wasn’t wrong . It was the reason he was sacked from Souths and then later the tigers . And it will be the same at the broncos .
You guys are delusional . I definitely am on the fence about Benji , but I’m 💯 sure the madge approach does not work with This generation .
The origin shield ain’t a trophy?

Nope ! Not in regards to the grind of nrl day to day life . Otherwise Mal meninga would be the greatest coach of all time … and no one I saying that outside of guys 12 beers deep at the Caxton in the middle of June .
He won the Super League in England, won the comp with Souths, won the Pacific Championship with NZ & has now won an Origin series’s with the Blues. I think it’s safe to say Madge can coach.

No one said he can’t ! I said his style is tiresome , and it will remain to be seen how long that intensity can be maintained , and not wear thin .
My bet is ….. a year . They will go good next year , by 2026 the stories will come out about player unrest … and history will repeat .
Anything you brought up is either a love letter to a style of football 10-15 years ago (my generation by the way . The type of style I would respond to personally - which I think some of you have it twisted ) , or short form competitions , where patriotism plays a big role . Origin included .

By all accounts in 2022 when he was sacked a lot of the players weren’t happy & a high profile recruit had doubts about coming so who knows

Maybe the "man management " was cranked up too high? 🤣

What a load of garbage

So what happened this time?
He grew some balls and told his manager its not the money, he wants a shot at a premiership?
The manager works for the player not the other way around...just another forum myth he didnt ever want to be here
There was nothing from the club or Richo for him
There was nothing else before this...

Madge attracted him over... and left.
We offered him more $$$
Then Sheens took over from Madge. All the roumers started then because Sheens had to convince Paps to stay. His manager too knows he won't get more money jumping out of here as well.

Look, we know pap's heart wasn't in it for our club. Whatever the reason. I really, really wish we could have traded him out or something.

I would be surprised if Hunt didnt spend time in Reserve grade next year.
Hes got very little self drive about him. Walks far too much
@innsaneink called him lazy...looks to be true to me as well.
Wrecking ball for 10 minutes doesnt help much and is he even a wrecking ball against decent defences?
He could destroy us when playing against us and could very well destroy us while playing with us. 🤣

Actually, that's not all that funny now that I think about it.

was thinking the other day,the last 3 teams that have overhauled the front office have done ok of late,Shark's thru most grades are in semi's -Parra a short burst in 1st,cant imagine any of us complaining about that.Penrith.All got there with some help from HQ,if the organization is as lack's as most agree, how did Richo just parachute in ? patience grasshoppers

TAB’s 2025 NRL premiership betting markets tip Bulldogs surge, Roosters collapse, Tigers for fourth straight wooden spoon
🐾

The 2025 premiership betting markets are almost open and the bookies are set to make some surprise selections, with the Bulldogs surging ahead, while the Roosters are set for a deep dive.
The TAB has released its first betting market on next year’s NRL, installing the Canterbury Bulldogs as a shock third favourite to win the title.
The Dogs have opened at $11 – their shortest price in years – behind only grand finalists Melbourne and Penrith.
Who would have thought this club would be a shorter price than glamour clubs such as the Roosters or Broncos going into an NRL season?
Such are the expectations on Gus Gould and Cameron Ciraldo, the two men who have lifted Canterbury from being the premiership’s easybeats into a genuine contender.
The major points are:
● Wests Tigers will start as favourites to win a fourth straight wooden spoon.
● Sydney Roosters are their longest price in years at $12.
● Brisbane Broncos might have got Madge Maguire, but are still a $17 outsider.
● Supercoach Wayne Bennett is only a $21 chance of having title success in his new gig at the South Sydney Rabbitohs.
The TAB’s Rohan Welsh says it will be the first time in four years Penrith will start a season not as title favourite.
“They have remarkably covered for the departure of star players in the past, but the loss of (Jarome) Luai and (James) Fisher-Harris will have to have an impact,” Welsh said.
“Now the Cleary-Luai combination is split, the Storm have arguably the best spine in the comp when healthy.
“The side we expect to fall away is the Roosters. They’ll go up at $12, but with the loss of so many stars, and key players rehabbing over summer, they could easily drift further.”
Welsh says the TAB expects a lack of interest among punters for the Roosters.
“It’s the longest opening price they’ve been since going up at $15 in 2017,” he said.
“That’s when they were coming off a wooden spoon.
“The jury is out on whether a few glamour clubs will rocket back into contention or implode.”
TAB 2025 BETTING MARKET
$4 Melbourne
$4.50 Penrith
$11 Bulldogs
$12 Roosters
$13 Cronulla, Cowboys
$15 Manly
$17 Brisbane
$21 Souths
$26 Newcastle, Warriors
$34 Canberra, Dolphins, Gold Coast, Parramatta, St George Illawarra
$41 Wests Tigers
As for the poor Tigers … “We don’t think Luai’s recruitment is enough to help the Tigers avoid another wooden spoon, let alone inspire a miracle run to a title,” Welsh said.

An awful lot of horse trading to happen before i would even risk a cent on that market.Player movement will make a large difference to the prices
