2013 SEASON DRAW ANNOUNCEMENT
Wests Tigers will play Penrith Panthers in their first blockbuster home game of the 2013 NRL Premiership.

The round 2 match will be played at Campbelltown Sports Stadium on a Sunday afternoon in a classic ‘Battle of the West’ showdown.

Wests Tigers open their season against Newcastle Knights at Hunter Stadium on a Monday night.

Three big games will be played at Allianz Stadium including a huge round 9 showdown against the Cronulla Sutherland Sharks. It will be the first time the two teams have clashed at the ground in a premiership match.

The historic Sydney Cricket Ground will be the venue for Wests Tigers’ Heritage Round clash in round 6 against St George-Illawarra Dragons. To be played on a Sunday afternoon, the match marks the 50th anniversary of the 1963 Grand Final between Western Suburbs Magpies and St George Dragons.

Traditionally the Club has hosted arch rivals South Sydney at the SCG for Heritage Round but has moved in an exciting new direction for 2013.

Premiers Melbourne Storm will again feel the full force of a packed crowd at Leichhardt Oval in one of 4 night matches to be scheduled at the ground.

A feature of the Leichhardt Oval home matches will be the round 3 clash against western Sydney rivals Parramatta Eels on a Friday night.

It will be the first time in over 10 years that the two Clubs have met in a premiership clash at Leichhardt Oval. The last time Wests Tigers hosted Parramatta at Leichhardt Oval was in round 2 of the 2002 season.

With more than 4500 Members having already secured their seats for next year and with four quality home games locked in, the demand for seating at Leichhardt Oval will again be strong. Reserved seating is still available for Leichhardt Oval however the Club expects these seats to be sold out before Round 1\. Secure your seats now at each venue by becoming a Member.

The exciting attacking style of Wests Tigers combined with their large fan base and popularity led to Channel Nine allocating 11 of the team’s first 18 games on free to air television, giving the Club and their sponsors tremendous exposure.

Wests Tigers NRL Coach Mick Potter said there were no easy matches in the NRL irrespective of when the games are played.

“From a football point of view, it is great to have the first 20 rounds scheduled which will enable us to lock in a really good plan in terms of training schedules and travelling arrangements so that’s a big positive,’’ Potter said.

Obviously I think more day games at Leichhardt would be the way to go.

However the opponenet list is ok with me as it is the draw of the ground more then the opponent. (Draw is greater of an afternoon)

Excellent FTA exposure for a club who did so poorly this season and nice to see Manly at CSS.

The away games in both Brisbane & Melbourne falling on a Monday blows for fans wanting to travel

Excuse the crude copy/paste, but here is a pic with some interesting details I got from a mate of mine.

Would just like to point out we are playing our first 4 games in the space of 17 days… now that's ridiculous! We go from Monday to Sunday to Friday to Thursday!

4 games in a touch over 2 weeks…...great :unamused:

To all the people complaining about no Sunday games at Leichardt I think you need to aim your blame at someone else , namely the club itself

The clubs have some imput into the draws and if the club had said "We want a couple of Sunday home games for Leichardt" we would of probably got it

And seeing the club has not reacted in any way (don't worry they would of got the draw prior to today) they must be happy with the draw

If not it seems the club is all bluster about change If they aren't happy they need to stand up and say something

They probably do have some input, but Raiders only got 1 FTA game for the first 20 round, so the value the NRL puts on club requests must be very limited.

Surely we would have asked for some Sunday games at Leichhardt. Unless they took it for granted that Nine would ask for them…

Has anyone been allocated their seats for the game at the SCG in round 6? We have already been allocated our seats but not for that game.

The club only had stadium maps for LO, Cambo and Allianz Stadium and it seems odd that we weren't allocated our reserved seating for the SCG yet.

What bays have members been allocated in the past at the SCG and what coloured membership was it if you can remember just to give me an idea where we might be sitting. Thanks

We can ask for Sundays but when you look at the rounds we draw Friday nights for a good reason in that we are a popular viewers option.

Well in Canberra's case that is understandable They don't draw FTA audiences so they don't get FTA games

We are a different kettle of fish LaT

We might be a popular viewers choice for Fridays Smeg , but we seem to lose a fair few of them also

I wonder what our most successful day \ night actually is ??

There's a Sunday game at C'Town come and watch that. Should be a cracker. Could be hot tho at that time of year. Better bring your stubby holder to keep it cool.

This is a bit of a let down..said to the wife we will check out Brisbane and Melbourne with long term bookings now Monday night fixtures so can,t travel . Well thought out that one why wouldn't,t you schedule these interstate games so fans can travel talk about brain dead and of course the return to that cramp hole SCG brilliant!

the draw is just the effect. Leichhardt on Sunday very sad in 2013\. But really 8 teams still make the top 8 irrespective of the draw.
