Other than that I'm happy with the WT and am proudly from the other side of the wall in the JV. Thats my investment.

But am sick and tired of others trying to cancel the Wests Magpies side out of the JV with crap threads and posts, black and gold spiritual homes etc.

If I had a choice of which “mighty Magpies” era to relive, it would definitely be the late 70s.

With no money and no salary cap to protect any of the pauper clubs, Wests were nonetheless able to mix it with the glamour teams and came within an ace of a grand final appearance in 1978, they again finished one game short in 1980, and also made semis in 1979 & 1982. 👍

Add an Amco cup and U23 premiership in 77 and a reserve grade premiership in 81.

A premiership would have come in 78 when minor premier if it wasn't for corruption.

Denied in 80 due to injuries and suspensions around finals time.

Cancelling that era is like cancelling RL for me.

Wests had a pretty good record against Parra there as well.
The Eels from memory hadn't beaten Us there for about 7 years.
Pratten Park was a great place to watch the Mighty Maggies with Noel Kelly, Peter Dimond etc.
Used to get there at about 1/2 time in third grade and watch the young blokes come thru into Reserve then 1st Grade.
Great memories 🤔
But bloody hell....so many years ago with not enough to get to excited about since we became Wests Tigers 🙁
