I honestly think the criticism of our Wests boys was a bit harsh tbh. I know what we as fans expect from them due to all the hype but in the end it is what it is. I was at the game as I was down there visiting some family and was able to rewatch the game again and in my opinion the final score did not reflect how our boys played. We didn't get a lot of the 50/50 calls, the penalty to Laulilii shouldn't have been a penalty which would've led to a try to us, our big boys in Miller, Laulilii & Faagutu showed up and they were really only stopped once each but they kept at it. Could they have done more, sure but it's hard to say when you spent most of the first half defending.
One thing I will say is what we failed to do was go low in our tackles which let the raiders boys keep their leg drive, make our one on one tackles and most of all wrap the ball up which allowed Canberra to keep the ball moving. I felt our halves needed to step up more but it was just one game. I think the boys will know what went well and what didn't and they'll be able to make the adjustments come Saturday.
