Shannon Gallant

Better than Thurston or Tonga? Yeh right. Shannon has a good game but settle down.

Gallant signed with the Cows before we signed Daniella or Brown so I cant see how you can say Sheens chose them over him. But dont let facts get in the way of a Sheens bagging, as always you never do.

Southertiger,
My post was made at half time.

Yours is made 40 minutes after mine.

At halftime he was the best player on the field and at full time he was deemed to be the 3rd best. Even the Fox Sports panel said at half time he was the best player on the paddock. A guy called Gary Belcher said it actually. He is quite well qualified to form such an opinion as he has played a squillion games for Queensland and Australia at fullback.

So lay off Mighty Mouse. He is a gun. The Fonz disliked him because he always proved him wrong.

The fact that the Fonz only gave him a $50K deal is an utter disgrace.

Does it matter the sequence of events in when these people were signed? The facts are that that money should have been offered to Gallant. Its plain and simple.

Bug,

I like Gallant. I have always said he is a good little player. I am just well aware he is no where near as good as you like to make out.

Money was offered to Gallant. He accepted and then took a higher offer from the Cowboys (perhaps the club should have offered him more). The club then signed other players. Your original post tried to imply the club chose Daniella and Brown over Gallant. That was factually incorrect - the sequence of events was therefore very important. If you want to twist facts to support your view, I will call you on it. If you had simply said the club should have offered him more I wouldnt have even responded but once again you overreached in your criticism of Sheens.

This bloke makes him out to be the next Tim Brasher or something… Come on tonight he played well but deadset the Titans did not have one kicker of note in their side and their kick chase was down right awful. If h was to play like that against Melbourne or ST George it would be a different story. Even then that would prove that he would be a player worthy of being considered a good first grader nothing more... He has ability but he would still now be not worthy of a spot in the Tigers top side

And Mitch Brown is??

Was he worthy a spot in last years side when we were blitzing everyone with him at fullback and Moltz at halfback?

I'm pretty sure Beau Ryan proved that the good run of form for the side had little to do with Gallant.

When the team has a roll on, he's handy. But his defense is poor, he's shaky under the high ball and he often gets caught in two minds when he has the ball in hand.

Besides what are you angry about? He left us, remember? He said himself that the amount of competition for spots was too much for him. He was offered, and signed, a deal befitting an unproven player and it wasn't enough for him.

Tame Tupou signed a deal befitting an unproven player.

Gallant is a superstar in the making.

He will have the last laugh and it is such a shame he was not offered money decent enough to feed his family.

Yeah 50k is such a pittance. My bad.

Regardless since he has left he has not slated the club in the media and as such I hold no animosity towards him. I personally wouldn't have had him in the top 17 but that is just opinion. I wish him the same good luck I wish any player leaving on good terms but other than that I just don't care.

Gallant had a good game.Good luck to him he deserves it but get over it people. Its been proven that we don't really need him & we probably have 1 or 2 players better suited to fullback than Gallant. At the end of the day when Bowen returns Gallant will be playing QLD cup again.

Gallant had a good game. He was fast, got involved and look dangerous every time he touched the ball. I dont think he was better than JT, Tonga, O'Donnell or Scott. If these 4 didnt play, I'd presumme Gallant would of been his usual 'SPEEDBUMP' self.

I think we have a few guys at the Tigers who playing behind a good forward pack would of shown the same qualities. As for the Tigers and Cowboys last night, neither team has a fullback that can tackle and wont feature in September unless this is adressed…

Bowen is back by rd8 so he has 5 weeks to shop himself around the place for next season, he won't push Bowen into reggies.

He was good last night, 1st half brilliant in parts. The kid gives 100% every game and no doubt will cause us a few problems next week as nippy agile players tend to always cause us trouble.

There has been talk in the lead-up to the season that Bowen will end up at number 6 for the Cowboys, IF Shannon Gallant plays well. So Gallant is in a battle with Ray Thompson it seems.

Yeh I heard that talk. No way the Cows are going to bring Bowen back from a serious injury to play in an unfamiliar position. Silly talk. There has been talk that Gallant will be considered for wing as well as fullback.

Gallant on the wing? That'd be a disaster. Guys like Folau wouldn't even have to jump to take a bomb off him.

Thats what I heard a few weeks ago. Its a bit of a worry if you are concerned that your fullback would get massacred under the high ball as a winger.

He did play well but he hardly got tested with the high ball by the titans and that i think hes supsect.Titans were pretty bad which made them look better then what they really were

Forget about what hes done in nsw cup its a second tier comp and in parts is of a low standard.

Lets see how he goes week in week out for a few months.

He wa signed with us bug but then he reniged on our deal to join the cowboys for more money and good luck to him.
