Shaun Johnson?? if lui goes?

No way, we want our halfback more involved like prince was aswell as benji, now lui leaves it up to Marshall most the time… Do we really see any freakish plays by lui?? On another note, LUI can't catch high balls, can't tackle and seems to drop alot of passes.... Johnson tho is total opposite to lui and shows his class all over the park, last weeks game he had a good game again... His young and still has a fair way to go... Most definitely I'd sign him up wit us

Flawed agrument. Lui handles the ball the third most among the squad after Farah who averages over 100 touches per game, then Marshall who hovers around 60 touches per game, then Lui hovers between 30-50 touches per game.

Johnson is comparable with Lui in how often he handles the ball and as for freakish plays, well that's why we have Marshall in the side, and Farah to a lesser extent. And I do seem to recall Lui bumping off 4 defenders last week and throwing a one handed basketball pass over the top of Luke Burt to put Ayshford in for a try. And then there are the nice short passes Lui uses to good effect when Ellis hits the line out wide…Who else do the Warriors have?

As for catching high balls, when has Lui ever been tested? Can't say I've ever seen him on the wing or at fullback, and as for dropping the ball, well we've seen Farah make blunders from dummyhalf on more than one occasion this season and Marshall makes plenty of mistakes - more than Lui. For the record Lui averages just over 1.05 errors per game, Johnson's error rate is higher at 1.3 and he has played less games this season than Lui.

And if you think Lui has reached the peak of his powers at 21 then you are sadly mistaken I'm afraid. We're seeing noticeable improvement in his defence right now as one example.

I think Lui is building nicely, lets hope he is not going anywhere. He is improving each week and will be extremely good in the future.

Lui is improving all the time & he is only 21, Sign Lui up & keep watching him improve with more first grade games & better understanding with Benji & Robbie.

**I would want to sign Shaun Johnson** as the guy is a freak at his age and in the years to come he will be one the great halfbacks in the game and the tigers will regret not signing him sooner…. He's my choice for a halfback

!4 other clubs too champ

I'd love to sign either Johnson or Fishiahi. Both freakish players who are impossible to stop in open spaces. I believe Johnson has a very similar skill set to Marshall and will become a star, Fishiahi has the same potential if given the opportunity.

Yeah the last 2 weeks his defence has been ok for the other 20 odd been hopeless. So not convinced.

Then you obviously missed the point of the post.

better option put farah to 1/2 back and buy a hooker will be cheaper and farah is a great defender and he plays like a 1/2 back any way. :bash

Better?

Waste several years development on Lui?

Take Robbie out of his best position, weakening one to bugger another?

Buy another hooker who will be not as good as Farah as theres not many better?

I cant see where theres anything ''better'' here

Hey mate its a forum maybe you should commend well thought out, insightful posts, rather than just brush them off with contempt.

maybe innsaneink you should be the only one with a view and the rest of us just piss off, you d…head.what i was saying was if lui left i believe that would be a better option and its only my view which i believe iam entitled too.

Hey mate, I'm so sorry you only read the Daily Telegraph, and find some actual analytical thought a tad hard to read and digest.

You've just tarred yourself with the same brush you were trying to paint ink with champ.

His view is just as valid as yours, and resorting to name calling because his reasoning behind his opinions might have struck some sort of chord with you, (or they might have blown your argument out of the water, but hey who knows) is just "d…head" behaviour.

IMO on the whole topic, Johnson could become another Mortimer and suffer from second year syndrome once the other teams work him out. Yeah he's quick, however in the games i've seen him play he looks like he has the potential to murder tries by not passing the ball.

I'd pay Lui a stack and sign him long term if we could afford to. With Loti and Ellis off contract beyond 2012, we should be able to, since the likes of Blair, Bell, Woods, Begovich, Reddy, and Grant are all coming into the team, and hopefully should kick on, and be able to cover the losses without the expense.

Because every time we've played Farah at halfback in the past it's been a raging success.

i'm sorry that you forgot we are talking about a game of footy and it would be nice if you didn't make the game look so nerdy.

I never forgot that we were talking footy in the slightest.

However if we want to talk semantics, it's actually a business, however I won't delve into that argument here.

and by posting your response on an INTERNET FORUM in a negative manner regarding being "nerdy" has got to be one of the most cruelly ironic statements I have ever seen!! :roll

That is so incredulous I'd almost think you were taking the piss in saying it, but reading back over your previous posts, it's clearly obvious you are not.

Not a chance of Johnson being anything other than a superstar, he is simply brillant.

As for Lui, I think he has potential but at this point is still has flaws, the last month he has been good and he has looked controlled, at other stages this season he looks like a headless chook. He is worth perserving with, but i dont think we should sell the farm to keep him

I hope we keep Ellis beyond 2012

It's fairly laughable to consider the Warriors letting him go. That team will either make a grand final or win the comp in the next 2-3 years, it's scary the amount of talent they have.

Agree on both fronts, Shaun Johnson will be a warrior for the foreseeable future
I think that Brisbane and Warriors are developing very good sides, obviously the broncs will miss Lockyer, but building a great group of young players.
I think we have some good uns coming through as well.

He is a freak shaun johnson he has all the qualities of a good halfback, he can make breaks and i'm sure him and benji will do a good job, if he is off contract.
