Shawn Blore #235

Hoping for a prognosis that is better than first thought for the bloke.
This year was looking likely to be a write-off for our team anyway so I guess a silver lining could be get our injuries hopefully out of the way this year and have a good run with injury next year when we will be more than competitive.

I dunno how you were able to find optimism from this situation.

Shawn blore rolling in to training

But serious poor guy , hope it's not as bad and he recovers well.

And I guess Brooks is unbreakable huh ?

Sorry, couldn’t resist ?

If he is our Bruce Willis , can we send him in a rocket and leave him on a meteor? ?

Club doctors pretty much know straight away if hes blown his acl through certain movements they assess the knee from

The club also wouldn’t release a statement if it wasn’t serious

Sadly scans will just confirm it. Not good for the young fella, hopefully he keeps his head high

Such disappointing news for the club and the poor bloke. Whatever the diagnosis I hope he is well mentally. I can only imagine how he would feel after working so hard over the off season. I hope he recovers well and we see him back better than ever

This a bad injury for a young fellow. Two close family relatives are physios. The rehabilitation these players go through just to get back on the field is great. Best wishes for the young man and I hope your recovery goes well.

It gives someone else an opportunity that they have might not of got otherwise. Obviously it's terrible news for Blore and the club but a team must overcome adversity in some shape or form. Best wishes to Blore?

Ridiculous to think injuries like this can happen at training. But then it just shows how being at peak fitness can make these guys vulnerable. I remember David Kidwell did an ACL playing with his kids in the backyard. And Tommy Turbo last year doing his knee after racing some clown down the corso. Or did he slip in the bathroom? 🤔

HSS at Canberra just did his ACL at training this week. It does seem to be that they train and play at so close to their limits that there are inevitable serious injuries before a competitive round has even been played.

High performance training= this sort of outcome quite regularly unfortunately.

Maybe there is something to be said for jogging a few laps of the oval and then down to the pub for a dozen schooners of days gone by. But seriously, these blokes are shredded to within an inch of their lives, it seems like more long term injuries have resulted from today's training methods and procedures. Look at pec injuries....commonplace nowadays but not really heard of back in the day. Maybe it's just to do with more precise diagnosis and reporting of injuries in the media these days?

Looks like it’s a different knee to the one he suffered in 2019.

That maybe is a good thing. If there is such a saying out of this bad situation. Sucks to see a good young athlete not being able to show his talent due to injury.

There was a bloke called Benji, who did his shoulder about four times in four years, who managed to scratch out a fair career. My point, it’s far from curtains for Blore. He will be back

Agree. Although undoubtedly it's a bit different a bloke playing in the engine room compared to a half. Hope he overcomes these setbacks and fulfills his potential.

Suspected ACL injury at training.

Probably out for the season.

What the???
If true it sucks but we must move on from him then.

Our injury toll to start the year would be the worst of any club - Blore, AD, Tommy, AJ - 4 starters for us.

Yeah, 4 bloody ACL injuries, 4 out of the top squad in about 9 months and a Pectoral tear in rehab for the first ready to take the field again.

some sort of review of trainers is needed

Whatever it might be, surely must be way over the odds for simple coincidence.

We had a pretty good run with injury in 2020 from memory, might have been 2019. It goes in cycles. Would rather 2022 be virtually wiped out for us than 2023 when we've got genuine quality on its way that's for sure
