Sheens calls on Tigers to Lift

We are rueing the release of taumata now :frowning:

Stupid comment, before Taumata left he wasn't deemed good enough to be in the halves for state cup. In reality we have 3 state cup halves who would have been picked before him.

Not stupid, just uninformed.

It is a little frustrating that some supporters are criticising the release of the "great hope" for the Tigers. Tomato hasnt played any decent spell in the NRL and has been released by other clubs for off-field activities.

Do any of you supporters know how he has been handling himself both on and off the field? Is he worth spending any more time, money and effort on considering the other options available in the club? I would think that as supporters that your level of knowledge on what is best for the club is limited to some random and biased articles by journalist and the tidbits picked up here and there.

Coach and staff know best and Sheens and Co. have been making progress with this young squad. Shame about injuries but thats football.

Funny how we lose to the No.1 team in the NRL who were virtually at full strength, fit and at their home ground and suddenly the doomsayers begin negative talk on the forum.

Pathetic really.

The teams running third and havent played to potential …... that gives me a lot of encouragement.
I believe we will beat Brisbane this week and judging by the way Gold Coast played against Newcastle, we'll probably beat them as well the week after.

While thats the case, and the leading players are happy, Tim Sheens must be retained

Seems theyre not good enough either.

I too am of the view that Sheens and the coaching staff do know best.

There is a lot that goes into the dynamics of a footie team beyond the skill base of any given individual player that determines the value of that player to the over all team. Elusive qualities like leadership, inspiration and true grit come to mind. Some players can only play one position, albeit very well - others can can cover several positions without ever being SOO material.

Any of you keyboard warriors that have played rugby league - even school or park football will agree, I'm sure.
No doubt Sheens and his coaching staff do their very best to field the best TEAM every week.
I believe they deserve our support - not ill-informed, long distance barbs.

And IMO that includes Daniel Fitzhenry who is invaluable to the WTs as a utility player!

As I stood on The Hill at Leichhardt when the Tigers ran out onto Leichhardt Oval against the Raiders it sickened me to see and hear the drunken fools in their recently purchased Retro Balmain jerseys booing Fitzhenry when his name was announced.

Anyone who thinks there is a legion of State Cup halves and props waiting in the wings should spend some time watching the games live. IMO BRET deserves to be the number 1 NSW Cup side as they are at the moment - but the standard of the NRL is a quantum leap above the State Cup.
