Oh with glee I watch.

1\. How can people say that John Morris was played at halfback for three years when at the beginning of last season Marhsall was experimented in this position. Sheens, in my view, accepted he made a mistake re John Morris and trief to find alternative options.

2\. When has Sheens ever mentioned Benji's willingness to stay or leave should he be sacked? It was Benji himself who raised this issue. Surely Farah and Benji's high opinions of Sheens suggest he is doing something right?

3\. Gallant - the same player who was in such demand that he was purchased by the Cowboys to play back up.

4\. I am not a fan of Roycie's but I feel a coach is entitled to have the staffing he wants.

5.Ryan O'Hara (2006 - failed but at the time was Australian rep) , Keith Galloway (2006 - major success). Who would you have bought in 2007, 2008 and 2009 that we were in a position to buy? I realise this is a rational question and you're not too concerned about rationality but please have a try.

Lets have Lamb, Langmack and Pearce back I say. Get rid of Sheens now.

In all seriousness, I think the club should wait until mid-year as well but lets forget the hysterics. Sheens is a good coach and has done a great job in building this club from the doldrums (something people too easily forget). If you had told me in 2003 that by 2010 we would have a premiership and a competitive squad ready for another crack I would have been deliriously happy.

Whats wrong Southerntiger, have i hit a nerve with my criticism of your precious 'supercoach' Sheens. I mean how dare i question 'supercoach'..no one else does.

1.The fact remains John Morris was played in the halves…Tim Sheens is the person who picked him in the halves therefore 'supercoach' should be held accountable for Morris' failings over not 1, not 2 .......but wait for it..... 3 YEARS!

2\. Sheens made it public last year that nobody within the club wanted Benji because of his injury record. Sheens the saviour went on to say he was the only one who wanted Benji @ the tigers. Benji was subsequently angry with the club. Why make something like that public??? I mean the club is Tim Sheen's employer (or is it the other way around). If thats not holding the club to ransom and creating divisions i dont know what is.

3\. Yeah Gallant the same player who helped us win 6 on the trot when given a shot.

4\. Well said southerntiger, we'll stick with ol' Roycie and a thing called "i cant teach defense".

5\. I would have bought ***ANY*** 1st grade front rower instead of buying Peter Lewis and playing Danny Galea in the front row

I'd rather not have Lamb, Langmack and Pearce. How about we get someone better. How about we get someone who can get us to the finals mored than once in 8 years. As i said, stick to mediocrity southerntiger. You make a great couple

Phil no nerve here mate. I am happy to replace Sheens with a coach who will do a better job. Unfortunately, no one has yet identified such an available person.

Well we know you can count to 3 unfortunately not past it though. Sheens has been here for 7 seasons not 9 or 8\. This will be his 8th season in charge of the club. In his 3rd season we won a premiership. The reason I like Sheens is exactly because he is not mediocre. Like Chris Anderson, he coaches teams to win premierships and is not satisfied with simply making the finals like a Brian Smith.

You bring up Peter Lewis … geez you're scraping the bottom of the barrel. There is plenty of nuffies out there to support your case Jamal Lolesi, Sam Harris etc. Yet you bring up Lewis. No wonder Sheens is about to get a renewed contract if this is the quality of the people opposing him.

Wow congratulations you can count. Well done! Shame that counting isnt a sport @ the Winter Olympics, otherwise you would have topped the tally for gold medals.

The reality is Sheens has been here too long. He needs to move on. He's not a bad coach, but he's lost all objectivity. He has his favourites, and that blinds him to whats best for the team.

We all see things differently .. time will tell but leopards don,t change there spots. As For being Anti -Sheens brigade i believe things run there course and we move on ..4 yrs without a semi berth is not good enough talk of a 3 yr deal ?

Fortunately for us Sheens isnt a leopard I guess. I saw enough changes last year to suggest we are moving forward although the Fitzy and Fulton re-acquisitions have scared me a little.

i gotta say it sent shivers down my spine when i read that Fitzy will play an important part of the team.

From the 2010 squad ….who are his favorites? Farah, Marshall, Galloway, Lawrence, Motzen, Ayshford, Payten,Ellis, Gibbs, Heigno?

What objectivity has he lost?

There is a core there that I think would be every fans favourite on this forum.....

Sirro...exclude Heigno

These blokes need to lift when the crunch is On..Sheens is resposible for that..they have once..

I agree with a lot of Philgood points but Iam also willing to give Sheens one more crack in 2010, and thats why I hope Stephen H gets his legal people to construct a contract that is null and void if certain objectives are not achieved in 2010\. The bottom line, this will probably not happen as their will be at least a couple of clubs desperate to get him as their head coach. Its all about supply and demand

For all those people who have doubts about the quality of people out their who could the job–dont worry--Like footballers their is always people out their who can do the job if given a chance.

Our early years and the Souths fiascos until they hired Lang show it isnt that simple.

Minimum levels the coach has to achieve to warrant a full contract payout.

It is not that uncommon a practicein the NFL

show me 3 coaches this has happened to.

contracts in college and nfl are all coach friendly.
the majority have buyout clauses, but please show me these minimum levels you speak of.
each contract has cause for termination

Despite the various views on Sheens,I think most folk on this forum wld like to see how we fare in 2010 BEFORE we sign him up to another 2/3 yr contract..makes sense to most
So why doesnt the Board see it that way..are we so concerned that he'll accept another offer & that we dont have a succession plan(please, not Royce)that we simply capitulate??

You forgot the most important one of them all…the halfback John Morris. Last year Sheens was virtually forced to move John Morris to the bench, Moltzen to half, and Shannon Gallant to fullback. And the only reason that reshuffle came is because the team was 2nd last and questions were being asked. If not for that, Morris would still be the teams halfback in this weekend's foundatin cup.

His objectivity is also lost when he consistently fails to drop underperforming players. Ben Teo was a prime example.

Well they couldn't have been too favorite….

Both are no longer with the Club...

Should he have dropped Marshall and Farah or Prince (in 2006) when they stunk?...Or just the players the fans think stink....

If anything...Loyalty to certain players who he expects to get the job done is a flaw in Sheens....

He put enormous faith in the '05 brigade....so far they have failed as well......

Teo is another poor example. The kid had a crapload of potential and for his flaws was a matchwinner on his day. Better examples would be Fitzy and Bryce Gibbs (2004-2008). I was a huge critic of Sheens over his use of Gibbs circa 2004-2005\. However, I have mellowed with age and I also came to realise that even when he does things I dont agree with I would still prefer to have him than someone like Nathan Brown.

If we re-sign him in the next month, and we are 4-8 after 12 Rounds, what do the board do then?I know it's hard and we have recruited well, but we are no better (at the present)than the team who has missed the 8 four years in a row.

Just wild speculation.. but I'm guessing if Sheens extends his position as coach beyond this season then Folkes will move on next year for a head coaching gig.. and all that positive atmosphere and professionalism we're currently experiencing will leave with him. I think the widely expected success that is coming this season can be attributed to him in a large part and it would be a massive step back to lose him.

When it comes down to it, I just think Sheens has been at the club too long. Going into our eighth season now.

And the "Sheens goes, Marshall goes" idea/fact doesn't scare me anymore.. it used to frighten me to death, the thought of WT without Benji Marshall, but he's just one player. I mean, I love him as a player, but I think a future without Benji is actually kind of exciting.. the dawn of a new day.

6\. Arana Taumata
7\. Tim Moltzen

Lazarus, Ayshford, Lui, Florimo, Mullaney, etc etc. We've got other options now that are more than adequate, plus we'd have the cash to secure a rep level half if none of our current lads can fill the hole. If Benji leaves, so be it. I'm well prepared.

Sheens I don't think will be head coach 2011 - no matter what happens this year!!! There is so much to gain in this change. It is also so very obvious that we will have a new coach next year. But its all good. Lets not worry about 2011\. We have the next 9.5 months to thoroughly enjoy! We will be a powerhouse - Man U of the NRL over the next decade. Will be bliss - like an everlasting gobstopper…will finally understand how Willy Wonker felt!

Sheens will not be Head Coach in 2011\. He will be Coaching Director. As a direct result there will be breaking news later in the year - will involve our No. 6 with the headlines "Benji Quits NRL - Goes to Japan! Get out clause in contract! All is good however as there will be new headlines say March 2011\. Which is also obvious.

2010 Year of the Tiger. 2010 (I think they announce that later this year - not sure though) Australia also wins right to host Soccer World Cup 2022\. Magic!!! A true fairy tale for the Wests Tigers. $400+ million will then be spent on a new state of the art stadium. A new throne for the kings of the NRL.

Just my insight for the things to come in the next 10 years or so...lol....

You're praising Folkes influence even before we have played a game. Geez if only Sheens could please people so easily.
