So what your saying is that Sheens is a qaulity liaison person rather than a quality coach, because i cant find anyone who thinks coming across in the media well means your a quality coach.

I'm saying that not acting like a moron in the media should be a key requirement for a first grade coach for the Wests Tigers.

And lets face it Sheens can probably coach a team better than anyone on this forum.

I guess then that losing your cool & swearing in reply to journos, and criticising youre own teams fans to the media are good pre-requisites for coaching

No definitely not.

On the whole Sheens is very good with the media. Nobodies perfect. There are coaches like Stuart and Hasler that come across as complete muppets.

I basically see no correlation between being a moron to the media and being a good coach. I'd rather get a good coach who is also good with the media.

I want a coach that gets us to the semis more than fifty percent of the time…not 25% like Sheens.....60% preferable...dont care if hes a goose in the media

**I wish we kept Moltzen, i like him, but keep them all**

Are you serious…???..I for one am glad to see Moltzen go...he will only ever be an average NRL player...he has talent...no doubt...but no ticker!....Good Luck to Moltz at the Dragons...

shame we cant do that to Forum members either, pack their bags and send them on their way… Rather then no ticker, more so they have no brains..

I dont think you are in a position to say someone has no ticker, especially at his age and coming back from a full knee reco. Two years ago he was the toast of the Tigerland, and set to be the player to watch and everyone wanted him at 7... now he comes back and only half way through the season, keyboard warriors like your self call for his head.. PMSL..

Tell me einstein, why were you not criticising benji for the periods where he was a poor defender and played with little confidence?

i agree with what your saying trexx….but if sheensie really rated him ,,he would not have let a contracted player move on ....any player who plays ist grade has a big heart .....rugby league isnt a better game these days ,,, but it is a tougher game .......

im with ink …..im tired of the same talk in every interview ....im sure the players get tired of the same speeches in the shed too....next year is the test ,,, sheens has the players he wants so lets see if they can rise to the occasion .....

Fonz says the same spin over and over. He must have a book of spin. The bloke is a fool. He contradicts himself and goes back on things that he says.

At the end of the day, the only way to gauge how good the stuff is that comes out of his mouth is by the results. And the results just are not there. They never have been there.

Stats dont lie. The bloke should have retired 10 years ago.

The Fonz gets a lot of respect from his mates in the media, with none of them prepared to ask the hard questions. That interview from Talkin sport was typical with none of them pushing The Fonz on his answers.

Tunks is a massive hypocrite, as he had been bagging out the team for weeks and when he finally gets a chance to grill the Fonz, just wants to be mates with him

Bug - who doesn't. If you don't ever change your opinion you are the fool (and that wasn't directed at you personally).

Stats do lie Bug. I'll tell you a common phrase "Lies, dammed lies and statistics".

I looked it up on wikipedia (because I'm a nerd) and the key point for you here is this point:- "particularly the use of statistics to bolster weak arguments".

Stats lie bug. There is often a lot more to it than statistics.

Surely you are not comparing Moltzen to Benji? He is not in the same class. Benji has had his fair share of criticism on this forum.

You cannot believe that Moltzen has any future at this club? He has done nothing this year in any game to make me believe that he will get any better.

I said it in another topic, and I will say it again. I will pay for his taxi fare to Kogarah if he left this week.

Talkin Sport is the most amateurish radio program of all time! I don't know which one of the hosts is a bigger dribbler? From the few times I have listened to them when I am desperate for news on the Tigers guests like Bill Harrigan treat them with no respect because of the school boy questions they ask? Then you have the callers (not all but some) that dribble on with nothing? Cut them off when garbage starts coming out their mouths! Talkin Sport is surely just a really poor comedy routine!

Interview with Coach Sheens is still not online however there is an Interview with Chris Lawrence post the Cowboys game.

This is spot on. Peter Tunks makes my skin crawl.

Only two people in the media have grilled Sheens in eight years and they are Brent Read (who was the journo asking questions after the Parramatta game) and Phil Rothfield. Considering Rothfield is a rosy cheeked dribbler of the highest order who I don't like classifying as a journo, you can say one person has asked the hard questions. One.

Rothfield only asks the "hard questions" because he knows when he purposely releases something contrary to popular opinion he will get a reaction and get people talking and generate traffic and sell papers. His blog today is about cutting Kade Snowden from the Sharks because he has been playing below par while carrying an injury. The IC has just been approved, a possible $1.4b TV rights deal could be coming our way, there's talk of changing the structure of the game to facilitate advertising to generate the cash to pay for those rights on FTA and that clown is talking about the Sharks, probably the least followed club in the NRL and most likely will be the first club to be cut by the IC because their a fiscal basketcase.

He's a bloody salesman masquerading as a journalist.

Rothfield is a grub of the highest order, even banging on about poor old braith kebabsta today and that "forward" pass
