Sheens poised to hand ageing Anasta challenge and a half Re

I honestly wonder how Moltz would have developed if he remained in the halves this year.
I don't think we will see it again though with Anasta and Marshall starting the year in the halves with Tim at 1.
We need to keep a solid spine (barring injuries and also the return of Teddy to 1.) which then shifts Moltz to utility? And then Sirro - not sure what will happen with him without shifting the spine too much.
Anasta could go to lock with either Sirro or Moltz to 7 (I would personally choose Moltz as he is a 7 and Sirro is a 6 usually) hopefully if Moltz plays well over the off-season.
So that's one option. But that will require too many moves within the halves/back row/outside backs which we want to avoid

Anaster is an organiser, a kicker and a leader. That's what we need in a seven.

Oh right?
Two weeks ago it was "Timmy has a good kicking game, Timmys passing game is the ball playing we need….Tim fits the bill"

Your half also needs to run....(Soward) otherwise the focus and pressure all goes on to the other

We'll see.

Someone else mentioned it, they'll play as they always have, chopping, changing....numbers on backs meaning nothing

You must have had your head up your ass (no surprises there) when Anasta was running through us all day at Leichart. Hes a great support player, I say put him at 7 but tbh if its him, Sirro, Miller or Moltz who partner Benji I don't really mind aslong as it stays that way

Oh yeh roosters game at Leichhardt…we were all there, werent we?

Hardly a glowing endorsement running thru a team with the 4th worst defence in the comp....hows he gunna go against the other 12 teams?

If he was consistently doing that....huzzah, but he hasnt

Its not really a concern if hes not running through the top teams, a good halfback is a support runner to the players he puts through holes and everytime I watch him he seems to offer great support. We don't need him running through teams every week, we need a steady head at 7 so that Benji can do it out wide

we don;t want or need a typical 7 who creates stuff. Our creators are a very dominant 6 and a very dominant 9.
We just need someone who can tone them down as needed and do the kicking.

This makeshift halfback stuff has been going on since Prince left! Why can't he just go out and purchase a proper halfback? What's the big aversion to doing that? It's like Sheens is obsessed with manufacturing his own half so he can say to everyone "see I told you so" - meanwhile we go through another mediocre season of chops and changes and no stability or cohesion. YAWN! Really tired of it now.

Anasta genuinely has the ability and attributes to play halback, 240 odd games at 6 is fair experience in the halves and if thats not the steady head we need idk what is. Him and Pearce have been playing a pretty hybrid role at the Roosters anyway, something like a 7 each side of the ruck, similar to Manly but Foran is a classic 6 with a lot of 7 about him.

I like it. I think the reason we went so well in 2010 was because other clubs seen Lui as a threat which took some heat off of Benji and Robbie. It gave them more room to move and create, and another option if someone has an off game. Anasta won't come up with the freak plays that Benji and Robbie do, but he's an established kicker who other teams will worry about. Plus he gets Benji back at 6 which is always good.

Better Anasta to talk to Benji in the 80 min. period than Benji talk to Miller. Anasta will be to Benji on the field what Sheens is to Benji off the field. I don't know but it's worth a shot. Right now I think Anasta is more solid in the mind. Wisdom & maturity come with age. Anasta has what we need in that 80 min period that we have been lacking since Prince left. We don't need Anasta 's body as much as we need his mind. Ain't that the truth Ruth!

Anasta will give 150 per cent, i'll give him that

With Anasta coming you would think we would have enough international experience to instill the same sort of attitude in all the players, one can only dream though..

Anyone who thinks this is going to work is kidding themselves. Consider:

- Anasta has never played halfback in his entire career. He is a five eigth, lock and second rower. Never a halfback.
- Not one coach in his entire career has ever thought Anasta could play half.
- He is old and slow. And Sheens is asking to him to play a new position at the end of his career
- Sheens has tried to make halves of several players (John Morris etc) - he has failed every single time
- Benji is a five eight. So is Anasta. So is Sironen. What we need is a halfback. It's a different position requiring different skills.

The best position for Anasta for us is lock. He can then involve himself in the playmaking duties as well as provide the cooler experienced head some are talking about.

Sheens is an idiot. He needs to be sacked immediately. Otherwise, we are going to waste another season while he tries to make a player into something he is not.

It's Anasta's responsibility to share his wisdom with our leaders who seem to be lacking in direction.

And he can kick field goals!!

(We may even win a golden point).

Anasta is better than some of the options being thrown up in the past. He can kick, pass and tackle. He will guide us around the park and provide guidance.

It is not a bad move if he does not over play his hand and lets Benji and Robbie run with the really attacking raids in the opposition 20 it could work
