Could have used Hastings with Brooks - especially now that all Brooks biggest fans see him as a running 5/8th.
Don't think anyone sees either being the individual key to success just want a team of players who can win games.
The people that support the team ahead of defending players firsthand foremost - that is.

We have not seen Laurie in FG with some go forward yet. I'm reserving my judgement at this stage. AD's last few games were putrid. His lack of effort in defence and starvation of the outside backs was well below anything that has been dished up this season bar the Broncos. I trust AD recovers; however, I have no desire to ever see him wearing a 6 on his back. He needs to be in the centres or left right out!

For years his ‘detractors’ correctly claimed he wasn’t a halfback and was playing the wrong role in our teams. This was always howled down by his ‘supporters’.

The one burning, unanswered question...
Why did the club insist on looking for a coach with limited or no coaching experience?
Answer that question and you start to understand the mess the club is in.

Because no experienced coach with half a brain would come here. Hell, even inexperienced coaches like Ciraldo took a look under the hood and said “no thanks”.

Based on how poorly the club is run, the horrendous results, poor roster, and penchant for sacking coaches, it’s little wonder

I never had any to start with.
Sheens back to coaching director role, Marshall to continue his coaching apprenticeship outside of first grade.

Truth would have been better if Marshall and Farah coached the Jesery Flegg side this year and next would have done them and the club a great deal of benefit both on and off the field.

Hastings would have been brilliant with Klem,Bateman and Api....but the Brooks suck holes on here cant see footballing skills from the patsy rookie hype thats continued for 12 plus years...All we needed was a player that organised,yelled and dictated the team around for a couple of years while the young guns developed...but I have no real idea about the game having played it for years, instead of being a keyboard warrior and media baboon that only knows whats spoon fed to them...

Hastings has 5 origin players in his team and has only managed 2 more wins than us. Hastings is overrated. He did everything you said last year and got us 2 wins as halfback of the team.

Both poor footballers imo and not what would take us forward
They both could play a role in a steam but cannot do anything on their own

Have to disagree mate. That’s what you get from Brooks, instinctive off the cuff play. What you don’t get is a great game manager, that’s where DCE comes in.

I honestly believe this year behind this pack with 6. Brooks and 7. Hastings we could have had that now and would be in the fight for the 8. Def would have at least 4 more wins then where we are currently at.

Dumping Hastings and Madden to keep Douhi and Brooks well, we know how thats turned out. Would have loved the chance to see how Brooks/Hastings performed behind this metre eating pack this year.

Hasn’t got that touch of class to finish it though

Remember listening to slater commentate where brooks delivered a poor pass in a 3 on 3 try scoring opportunity and a brooks poor pass resulted in play breaking down
Slater - got to ice those moments especially where the game is to be won (pretty close to what he said)
That is brooks 60% of the time

whatever was the question: Hastings, Brooks, AD, Wakeham, Madden are not the answer, we need a better halves.
