If Timmy Sheens is intent on having Lui at half it could affect his thinking about bringing Lazarus in. I really hope i am wrong though, because Lazarus has the ability to play fullback and halfback meaning more flexibility when Lui comes back becuase then Lazarus could slot in at fullback with Ryan going to the wing (although he has been killing it there, it would mean Brown could go back to resrve grade to try and fix up some errors).

hmmm…. but what would happen...
... to ryan once TNT.. comes back ?

1\. Ryan
2\. Tuqiri
3\. Ayshford
4\. Lawrence
5\. Tuiaki
6\. Marshall
7\. Lui

14\. Fitzhenry

He will only get Luis spot if he performs other wise teachers pet will not be dropped from utility

Lui is due back in week 8, so there are only 2 weeks to go without him. This strengthens the argument for playing a 'caretaker' half, rather than rushing Lazarus into the NRL. The most likely options are Benji and Fitzy in the halves or Benji and Fulton. I'd go Fulton because he will make 40 tackles and give good service to the right side attack. It doesn't matter what number he wears or who feeds the scrums.

I beg to disagree. I think the fact that it is only for two weeks makes it more likely they'll bring Lazarus up to give him a taste of first grade and see how he fares. Leave Fitzy, that super utility, on the bench and if Lazo fails bring the super sub on - he did such a stella job in the halves last weekend.
We will all be put out of our misery this afternoon when the team is announced.

I think you will find that any new player added to the mix would be arana tamata - If fit..

However

I'd like to see Laz so I ca make my own decission - The club stuck with hime through a few injuries now so their must be something there.

I wouldn't have Lazarus marking Kimmorley on debut. Perhaps a bench place but for me, more time needed playing for Balmain-Ryde.

The fact that he travelled to Canberra and warmed up with the side as standby for Moltzen & Benji is important I think. I think (hope) Lazo gets the job.

Also, we need to remember that the side sheens names this afternoon may be very very different than the side that plays on Friday. Sheens has a habit of not announcing young debutants untuil the last possible minute.

I would hope that Tim Sheens is focussing solely on Friday night with hisselections.

I have no doubt that he is.

If Lazarus is not chosen than as long as Fotzy is not shifted to the halves I can understand it.

I would hope that Sheens gives Lazarus a shot, so that when Lui comes back there are two options and competition for a spot will bring out the best in both.

well for sheens he shouldnt be worried about half pick Lazarus and thats it

im more worried about our go forward,we need a better bench imo if we are to make the top 8 this year
we need some forwards that are gonna go forward

Ummm…Wests Tigers have made more metres than the opposition in every game we have played this year..... 😱pen_mouth:

Our forwards have been outstanding......and certainly haven't be dominated by any of the packs we've been up against so far....

Sheens is doing a great job...whatever he's thinking...

he is doing a great job

Glad he is the tigers coach

I think beau has sewn up the fullback position for good
tuiaki+lote+beau taking the first hit ups on kick return = easy metres
plus if that desperation save on gallant in a pressure situation doesnt scream fullback i dont know what will

I would like to see them both on the park at the same time. The thing is they both play down the Left hand Side.

One will have to swap Sides…

Nice problem to have.
