Sheens....THREAD!!!!...OFFICIAL.

Guys…Guys....I too am frustrated and the "unusual" team selections...I too am frustrated and p*ssed off that Sheens has not recruited a specialist half since 2006!!! when its obvious that is the one position this club and Benji needs to fire!...I too am frustrated that the players seem to not be improving year on year - especially their defence....BUT the BIG question is who replaces Sheens??

I bet that when we fall over the line and make the 8 he's got a two year extension.

Yep..u can see Tigers defintely getting smashed by both Panthers & Titans, but the big question is whether one of the Eels or Storm ,with nothing to play for but pride, dont turn up against us.
If thats the case you can be certain that the Tigers, with everything to play for, wont turn up either …so then it becomes a toss of the coin in these two matches,& winning one to get to 30 points will get us into the semis ...to be punted in round one.
Somehow that doesnt quite feel like a satisfying season

Found this on another forum, interesting! [[http://forum.sportal.com.au/yaf_postst74574_Coach-Sheens-set-to-be-pushed-rumour.aspx/url]

Hey guys i have heard from a reliable source that is high up at the Tigers that there has been a push from the players, CEO and half of the board to sack the great man. Ceo Humphreys and Sheens are not seeing eye to eye over some things and one of the tigers best players has approached Humphreys on behalf of most of the players to oust him. In Sheens contract if he misses the 8 this year Sheens has to walk but reports coming out of concord are that he will be asked to stand down or be sacked. Personally hope it happens so this fossil can fall on his own sword. Good to see he is finally being held accountable for his results, not like last year when the last CEO was sacked because he wanted to bring in KPI's and Sheens cracked it and had the board throw him out. The majority of the players want this guy gone a year on, the CEO and now alot of the board. He will be lucky to see out the rest of the year expect to here more in the next week or 2.

Hope it is on the money :sign:

This would be the WORST possible thing to happen leading into the Finals…

If the board are thinking they should have a say in what happens on the feild, THEY need to go...

The Football Operations and Executive Operations have 2 completely different functions within the Structure of a Football Club.

I say get rid of these Old Cronies on the Board, bring in some new blood and assess the Coaching Team at years end!!!]([http://forum.sportal.com.au/yaf_postst74574_Coach-Sheens-set-to-be-pushed-rumour.aspx/url]

Sheens should be moved on at the end of this season regardless of where we finish. We are badly in need of a fresh change, a fresh approach.

Yeah it should be done at the end of the year, I can't see it being too good doing it before the season is finished, not now

THeir needs to be massive changes right through the football club, from coaches right through the playing roster.

At present the playing roster seems to have splintered into groups and seems to be contaminated with bad habits and bad attitudes. Their seems to be this cozy feeling," that okay lets put that behind us and next week will be okay". For months we have been average and week by week seem to be in a spiraling downfall.

A new coach on his own will make little difference same as a major change to the playing group and the same coach would make little difference. It has to be both and this club will continue to hover around the middle of the field to someone takes ownership and makes the hard calls and I think Stephen Humphreys is the man capable of getting the place back in order

Not gonna happen - The Boys imploded in the second half.

For sure that was Coach Sheens fault…

No your right it was not Sheens fault, but as head coach he and the players must share the good and bad. As head coach he is responsible for selecting and preparing the team each week along with many other things. Now if the team form is slipping year by year and game by game serious questions have to be asked. Dont delude yourself we have been average all year except for maybe two games. Every side in the NRL has put two good games together even the Sharks. I think what ever chemistry ever existed between Sheens and his players is long dead. I think the next month will show people how good this team is and how well their coached ( and it will not be fun)

there is a rumour floating around that sheens is set to be sacked, regardless of whether the tigers make the finals.

this from another rugby league forum (and no it isn't LU)

Sorry Axe grinders - Buckleys chance

Sack a top 4 team coach with 4 games left in the regular season.

Especially with no one better waiting to take over…

This bloke is going to be like John Howard when he was PM, he stayed around forever..and people were eager to get rid of him and now look whats happening .. we ended up with Kevin Rudd , Gillard and some wanna be PM in Speedos.
I dont want any clown running the Tigers after sheens leaves.

I'd tend to believe the 2 year extension…

(Boy, is that gona give this thread a kick along)

What's the bet Rothfield or Massoud will print the "Sheens is Gone..." story in the next 24-36 hours

Sheens will be extended if we qualify. That deal is done and just waiting to be announced.

The club did it after the Cronulla game. Surely we can't miss out from here? Five straight losses to miss out really would be THE biggest collapse imaginable.

If we finish top 4….......then I am okay with Tim being extended.

If we scrape into 8th...........I don't think that's good enough and he should walk.

Either way, if we make it he is going to be here for a good while to come.

If he stays he has to change his coaching style , too old skool and too predictable nowdays ..
And i'm sick of his Straight face no nonsence Media face , Grow up Sheens and be a show pony for the supporters ..
be a bit more animated … looks like a serial killer in the coaches box yet he cant address the boys to lift their game ..

Firstly I am a Sheens fan but think its probably time for him to go in that all clubs need change eventually but to say his coaching is predictable is stupid , he is the most innovative coach in the game , it may not always pay off but I still cant think of a team I'd rather watch or support we bring entetainment and excitment and ups and downs and great entertaining football - I'd rather support us and loose in crazy situations occasionally then support the dragons and be bored shitless

I can't believe the hysteria on here. Inconsistent form is a product of the salary cap not coaching. Which side in the competition hasn't had a poor run this year? Our poor run has resulted in 8 wins from 11\. Winning is great, but the way you win is also important. The way we play, when in form is better than any team in the competition.

What exactly is the problem with Sheens?

Selections? So we put Lazarus, Tamana and Moors in the side? Is that going to stop what happened on Saturday?

Style of play? Do any of you want Benji and robbie to stop playing attacking football? Or, are you just unrealistically hoping that every pass should find the mark?

Discipline? which side has less off field drama then us? Was that always the way it was with our clubs?

lack of a halfback? Which team has a high quality halfback at the moment? The modern game has very few quality halves. Which of you was disappointed we gave Lui and Moltzen a go at the start of the year? I still believe the biggest disappointment this season was losing one of our most important players in Moltzen who I believe had solved our problems in the halves.

I think we play with a style that is rare in the modern game and I'll be sad to see the Sheens era pass. He encourages his players to try their hand and the result is spectacular at times and dreadful at other times. I'm glad we are having a go at playing a different style of game to other teams. Having sat through some very average teams in the 90s who could barely pass, I think we are very lucky to have great players playing adventurous football.

Benji, Robbie, lawrence, Rhino, Gibbs, Fulton, Tuaki, Moltzen are Sheens' players. Which players have done better away from Sheens? Harrison? Who else?

Your collective complaining will stop as soon as the next victory comes around. You all look like snivelling children at the moment. Saturday was a brilliant game, I hope to see many more like it and I want Sheens as long as he is wanting to coach us. We will all be talking about how great a team this was to support one day.
