Sheensy needs to do the right thing........

If we don't make the 8 (even if we make it and go out early)….Sheensy needs to be fair and let these blokes hear another voice during their careers. It's not fair on our core blokes that they've only ever had one NRL coach. Even great players learn when they get a new coach.

It's clear at this stage that Benji Marshall still hasn't got it at 27\. Inconsistent and error prone...main streangth is natural ability...just like he was at 21\. Is he a 6 or a 7...............geez, the coach still hasn't worked it out after nearly a decade.

Benji, Robbie, the core guys need a new coach and new ideas. Don't say there's none out there. There's a Shane Flanagan and McGuire always waiting....Nathan Brown, Tony Smith are the next ones..........this club needs new ideas. Sheensy has had some good years, but there's been too many down years for a team with once in a generation players like Benji and Robbie. We are in serious danger of wasting the last few years of their careers.

The whole club needs to hear a fresh voice.

If we fail to make the finals and Sheens still says he's the man for the job next season, then he's in it for ego and nothing else. The right thing would be to walk away and let the players start fresh next season. Honestly, this seasons roster is stacked and we've barely turned in a decent 80 min performance all season.

Not good enough Coach.

HAHAHAHA thanks cnx I needed a good laugh after another woeful display by players and coach again tonight. What are you thinking? that post was far too accurate, logical and just plain straight true to be taken seriously around these parts. Wait for the "stop Sheens bashing" responses. Seriously, if anyone, anyone can defend this chump Sheens anymore, give yourself an uppercut and go follow netball, clearly the Sheens defenders have no idea about league if one can defend a bloke that continuously produces nothing….

I agree, the Tigers are very free flowing, the coach lets his players mainly play what's infront of them, play to their natural flair, which is great for entertaining attacking footy. But the Tigers have about as much structure as a school lunch time touch footy side. As a result, the Tigers win a heap in a row & then lose a heap in a row & around it goes. The Tigers never make the finals on the back of a good consistent season, always finding themselves fighting for their life in the middle of the season & only making it in off freak winning streaks. The coach needs to go, his main players are getting older, they need structure & can't keep playing crazy football. It's great for entertainment but the truth is, this style of football will never go far in the finals against heavily structured, methodical sides that know what they're doing. You need a hardarse like Hasler, Bellamy, Maguire or Bennett. I would actually be very interested in seeing how the Tigers went under a structured gameplan.

In short I agree we need a new coach. But, in all seriousness who do we get? Who is out of contract next year who could seriously get us to a premiership?

I don't follow too much super league, but it seems the same teams winning that each year, rather then a coach winning.

I know Souths are doing well with their coach, but surely we can't want Nathan Brown.?

I would like to see sheens take the rest of the year off , hand the reins over to georgalis (spelling)? We can't get any worse than last night ? Sheens is stale…....

Injuries killed chance of a win against a top 4 team on their home patch and you want to crucify the coach?

Take a panadaol and go back to bed.

Lack of fitness / sheeny's coaching methods/ and marshals brain dead moments cost us the game , not injuries .

Lack of Fitness??? That was fast out there last night. Every Cowboy interviewed said it and couldnt believe at how tough and fast the Tigers played the 'whole' game.

I tend to agree however the coaching methods should be questioned when you look at the lack of structure we always play with, but I'm certain the coach doesnt coach the number of brainfarts we saw out there last night by our key players.

I'm happy to have Farah @ 9 & Marshall @ 6 and happy for them to play whats in front of them, but the biggest single thing we lacked is a 'footballer' in the 7 to steady the flow.

We kick the ball into touch a couple of times in that second half, we get the time to get air into the lungs… We work towards creating a reset, we build pressure... We take the 2 points with 10 to go, we probably win that game...

We lack a 'footballer' in this team and for that I believe it is Sheens fault!

We have always struggled defensively against dynamic attacking players such as Inu, Watmough, Gasnier, Tahu. We make these guys look 10 times better than they actually are because our defensive pattern is just not good enough. At times we look like we only have 10 players on the field while teams like Brisbane and Souths look like they have 15 defenders. It's not rocket science but it's like as soon as a team changes direction against us we just don't adjust quickly enough.
Phil Gould sees it coming and highlights our defensive deficiencies every time we play, I'm no expert but there are glaring problems there that haven't been adressed but definately need to be.

The problems in defence might come from players being continually played in different positions.
No-one gets a chance to settle.
You can't tell me there is another team that has anywhere near the number of positional changes we make.
We have had about 6 halfbacks , three or four fullbacks and God knows how many centre and wing combinations.
No wonder they get confused where they are supposed to be in defence.

They also switch too many times throughout games… left/right/middle, you just cant work out where some are playing sometimes.

Most teams defend as a unit, but the Tigers always seem to defend as individuals?!

Not good enough Coach.

The most true and sensible thing i've read on this forum ever.

Ahh yes the two years when we had an actual halfback and made the semi finals on the back of it.

I would ask honestly though Chris. Would you agree that by trying to prove Benji has always been our halfback that Sheens has effectively blunted one of the most instinctive and gifted attacking players of his generation to a ball shovelling passenger?

Here we go, the injury excuse again.

This team has criminally under-performed all season, you going to blame injuries for that too?

Are we a great side? no,
Are we hot and cold? Yep
Do we have tons of injuries and players playing out of position? Yep
Is Sheens respected by Players, Journos and Administrators in the Game? Yes
Could we do better in the recruitment area? Yes

Here is the reality

Give up a 400K / year job.
Your not asking much are you???
Two chances… Buckley's and none

Great post, plenty on the board have been wanting a new coach for years now, things have been stale, the team appears bereft of ideas at times. We've put in what, 1 80 minute performance all year and that was against the Raiders.

It's awful seeing players like Benji play like they are. Out of position, trying to do things outside their usual range. He probably should have stuck with Moltzen at half and actually play Benji as a 5/8, keep him 2 wide of the ruck and have Brown and or Beau at fullback. We look so much better when Benji runs the ball.

In sheensy own mind his not the problem , he's got to much pride to step aside and let someone else have a go.
In my opinion he has to take responsibility on how we have been playing , Please go.
