Not many positives today but geez I like the look of Laurie, kid has a big heart and some great plays in him.

I know he hasn’t broken a game open yet but has looked really composed and there is some great signs of things to come. I would like to see him sniffing around the ruck a bit more looking for an offload but otherwise very happy to have him in the team.

Trouble is mate, the rest of the TEAM have to have an idea of what to do,otherwise DL will be burnt every week and then probably look to go to a club that will appreciate his abilities...

sounds like the story of Tedesco!

He has exceeded all my expectations. He is one of the toughest players on the field and the smallest. Some of our other players should be ashamed when they see the smallest player on the field give more then them.

Can I upvote this more than once somehow

DL was great
Stefano was great
Liddle was great

Tamou and Joffa tried but were not supported
LL tried but was alone on that edge

Mbye gets a pass

And that’s about it

Edited to add twal and garner as also a pass mark, maybe a bit more

The rest didn't even look good enough to play first grade.

He’s a good player
Real live wire
God knows what he’s doing here ...

He will be a superstar , if we don’t start playing finals soon unfortunately he won’t be here for long.

We’ve got him for a while ..
As you said...I hope the rest of the side start to aim up ?

Absolutely mate, his defence is the one area that has surprised me the most, really good technique and commitment to the contact.

I know Morris stood him up today for a try but guaranteed 9/10 fullbacks would have been burnt by Morris in that move.

Even when Morris stood him up he showed emotion unlike the rest of the bludgers on the left

Mate loved that emotion, great to see from a rookie.

Yes I definitely do. If they don’t, start blooding all these great youngsters that we have and let’s build for the future.

How long before he’ll want out you reckon?

Mate hate to say it but that thought crossed my mind while watching the game.

Teddy Paps JAC etc etc.... Any decent players we find we soon lose

He is a great signing. Fearless and by god we need another 1/2 dozen like him.

I'd give TT a pass as well and at least Nofa tries.

Hopefully he sticks around the joint for a long while... quality little player he is. He will score sooner rather than later for us

He is a livewire in attack. He is safe under the high ball. Like you , I’m definitely surprised by how much he punches above his weight in defence. What a great player and a great buy.

What about when he back slammed Keary when he was the only cover left, he is deceptively strong for his size and he showed it last week aswell

This kid will help put bums on seats as long as the rest of the bums in the team pull their weight

Just hope that the young bloke doesn't get disheartened too soon by the lack of opportunities he gets due to our our current shambles of an attack.

Poor kid can't do it all on his own.

I thought this was a Stefano thread. Two young guys playing well.

For sure have been very happy with Stefano too, he is another quality rookie and excited to see him develop.

Never thought I'd see the day where I'd be this excited about our fullback once again. I love Daine Laurie and he doesn't deserve the crapfest happening around him.

I'm trying to think who he reminds me of, a bit of Hodgo or Benny Barba?? Either way I'm just glad we've got something positive to talk about.

Laurie is very, very good. Has a touch of Brett Hodgson with a little bit of Cameron Munster, thrown in for good measure, about him. Looking forward to seeing how he develops.

I definitely was thinking Ben Barba. I remember the year he was daily m and almost won them a premiership.
