You couldn't make this s*** up honestly!!

You gotta admit this is pretty funny.

I think Benji's heart is in the right place but I mean we need to win games and this season has been a shamble. There has to be consequences - that's life.

To the posters who feel it is appropriate to swear or post disguised swearing - think again. Several posts in this thread have been deleted and if the trend of swearing continues, warnings will be issued and members may be placed on mod preview.

While there may be a distinct lack of maturity shown in some of these media articles I do not expect that to translate on here.

Lost me when he said the "great" culture in his lifetime came from Sironen and Elias. May pay benji to start sucking up to Western Suburbs legends if he wants Wests tigers to continue to exist.

Yes, another slap in the face to the solvent side of the joint venture.
If Benji could add a bit of Raudonikis to his culture he might find a need to shave in the morning

In a way, I feel sorry for guys like Braith Anasta and Eddy Pettybourne, who are joining us amid all the uncertainty. They would have been expecting to play under Tim Sheens; if it turns out that Tim is not the coach, I'm not sure what they would think. They probably have no idea what is going on. I must say I feel the same. The board has a decision to make but I'm in the dark about what's going on. I'm not sure what that decision will be.
Obviously Benji is cut about this & was having a shot at club management but hello, i'm sure if Sheens is sacked that Anasta & Pettybourne are proffesional enough to go on about their business the same regardless who's the coach.

Benji has his opinion.
we each have our own.
Let the board make its decision, and move on from there.
focus all frustration into training, and show that in adversity wests-tigers will triumph.

"if we decide to have lunch together, he makes all the calls to make it happen."

I'm glad that's so important Benji!

Honestly you couldn't make this up. Absolutely pathetic.

This just proves that the reason these players were never dropped was because Benji wouldn't have approved.

Sheens allowed this type of culture to thrive and now it has come back to bite him.

Benji hasnt lost 2 mates and he should realise it, they have just moved on to play for another club which is all part of sport.Life moves on Benji and having 2 teammates go elsewhere is not earth shattering.

Hopefully the person who has allowed this "culture" to develop is shown the door very quickly

Benji keeps telling us all that they play for each other and they are "brothers". If this is true wouldn't they have had a go in the last two rounds instead of getting 40 put on them by an Roosters side who detested their coach?

If this is the great Tigers culture no wonder we finished 10th. We missed the 8, threw in the towel in the last two rounds yet all that matters is that they're all mates and Heighington organises great social lunches.

Indeed. It's time to re-invent the culture over the off-season. A few days at Holsworthy being put through their paces by 4RAR and obtaining an insight into the psych of special forces soldiers might give the players a fresh insight into mateship as well as being mentally tough when the odds are against you.

Time to shut up Benji.

Someone develop an app for this guy to organise a weekly lunch meeting and invite everyone.

They talk about guys they spend every day with. Well when a bunch of those guys run out today for BRET where will this great mateship be cheering from? Sure as hell won't be the ground.

Oh you were made promises and it hasn't panned out that way? Boo hoo. Welcome to life.

You feel sorry for Pettybourne & Anasta? So do I. Imagine how much of a weeks training is wasted placating your ego and feelings.

PATHETIC

I defended them for all of my worth saying they weren't soft

I was wrong They are soft

I reckon 15 other clubs and their players are laughing at this crap

Time for a massive cleanout

Well if the team finishes in the top 8 u think this would have happened, the players only have themselves to blame for not playing well enough

''It has been a difficult week. I haven't just lost two teammates; I've lost two of my best mates''

I wonder how Port Adelaide players would feel reading this line after what they've just been through. They really lost a team-mate who tragically lost his life, then you have drama queen crying that he's lost his best mates when they've only gone 30k's down the rd and on decent coin. I know who really has the right to be struggling with losing a team mate atm

PATHETIC

Sack benji and give his money to jonathon thurston -I have never said benji should go but I am done with this wingy winey attitude -grow up you soft ….. .Agree with above pathetic

I do so truely hope all those going to the GF luncheon let Benji know personally how he's coming across, how you really feel.
Stuff the occasion, stuff the mood….too much charades have been going on for years....if he hears it from joe average it might just hit home and he may pull his head in, the remains of his career relies on it
