I do so truely hope all those going to the GF luncheon let Benji know personally how he's coming across, how you really feel.
Stuff the occasion, stuff the mood….too much charades have been going on for years....if he hears it from joe average it might just hit home and he may pull his head in, the remains of his career relies on it

Best not to upset him any more Ink .

He may get his lunch on his bib and throw a tanty

Article is a joke. Where was this article when Junior Moors signed with Melbourne? He was also one of the Tigers best this year… in fact he was better than Heighno.

This great culture that this club has, has got us to 3 finals in the last 10 years under this coach. And I know its hard, but maybe Moltzen could organise the lunches??

The players need to face the music, in Ryans case he is probably arguably the third most important winger at our club (definitely behind Koro and Nofo) but maybe ahead of Utai, and definitely ahead of Tuquiri.

Maybe when you take your mates glasses off and you play the Sharks next year and you see Ryan and Heighno run at you at 2km an hour next year and never look like breaking the line, you will realise they weren't so great after all.

Stop crying Benji, honestly. Your only making the whole situation worse for the club. Just give it a rest.

I can see Rhino playing well under Flanagan and running the right lines. Beau will be consistent and probably lead try scoring for Sharks and it will be a hell of a lot worse in the media than it was with Gibbs/Fafita leaving.

I wonder how Port Adelaide players would feel reading this line after what they've just been through. They really lost a team-mate who tragically lost his life, then you have drama queen crying that he's lost his best mates when they've only gone 30k's down the rd and on decent coin. I know who really has the right to be struggling with losing a team mate atm

PATHETIC

hit the nail on the head , very true . He's been spoilt for to long.

We all know Benji might not have had a great start to life with his disrupted childhood. But he seems to have been protected and pandered for much too long.

It appears this pandering continues at Wests Tigers and at his other workplace , Ch 9.

We all appreciate in this day and age that a man is allowed to show his feelings. But ….this is just too much.

Very sad to see them go and the whole exercise has been very poorly handled but whatever happens you can't have the players running the club so not sure where it will all end with other clubs circling Benji & Robby.
I remember when Balmain let Brasher go because he was 15 minutes late(he was holding out for a better offer that didn't eventuate) to sign a new contract, the Board will have to get tough for the sake of the joint venture and to make sure this mess doesn't all spill over into the 2013 season.

I have to say something here, this is all getting ridiculous. It's ok for Benji to be upset about his "mates" leaving, but this is not a friendship group, this is an NRL footy team, and most of the players including Benji I suppose, get paid huge salaries to play and I assume they are expected to win most games or put in a great effort.

So I think Benji has to forget he has mates in the team, you are there to play good footy, not to be in a mutual admiration society-(not that there's very much to admire at the moment) 😕
I don't know how Benji is going to react if or when Coach Sheens leaves. Please get on with playing some good footy, you have a responsibility to fans/members/supporters/sponsors and your club :bash

Not sure where to start with this….dot points to the rescue.
(1) What is Benji's motivation for writing this pap? Does he actually think one single person in the world would read it and come away with a higher opinion of him? This just makes him look thoroughly unlikeable.
(2) Benji is almost 28 with 3 years left in his current contract. His next contract is going to be a shadow of his current one. Tigers have no obligation to release him if he chucks a hissy fit. In the words of Wally Lewis his ability to "dictate terms" is quickly diminishing.
(3) Further to (2), I could put up with this nonsense if he had made an impact this year. If we had Anasta playing instead of Benji, we would have achieved the exact same results...perhaps we would have done better with Anasta likely to have closed out some tight games (Dogs and Souths etc.).
(4) Does he know that in 3-5 years depending on injury (and perhaps form) he will be retired and will need a new job. He won't be hanging out with his mates everyday then - that is going to be a BIG shock to his system - real life.
(5) He might want to think before having children. Guess what Benji, when they turn up you don't get to see your mates much anymore no matter how much you wish you could turn back time...even for an hour.

As you were.....

Fair dinkum Benji, you haven't lost 2 mates, they aren't dead.

Before I signed my latest contract with the club, I was given some guarantees; things I was told were going to happen but which never have.

That's probably the most interesting part of the article. I think the board's decision is kinda clear, we can afford to lose the coach and anyone else in management, we can't afford to lose players like Robbie or Benji. They have to get rid of Sheens, find a way to pay him out, dump him out to the Warriors, whatever. The long term cost of losing either Robbie or Benji would be more expensive I reckon. Sponsers are already supposedly upset about losing Beau…....imagine the reaction to losing either Benji or Robbie or both?

What fool. The line where he says certain things were promised when he signed and havent happened just adds more rumour and crap to the situation. One of the worst examples of leadership iv ever seen. And that line sounded a little like a threat. Well if you honestly dont want to be here Benji then please go. Your money will be well spent elsewhere.

To the posters who feel it is appropriate to swear or post disguised swearing - think again. Several posts in this thread have been deleted and if the trend of swearing continues, warnings will be issued and members may be placed on mod preview.

While there may be a distinct lack of maturity shown in some of these media articles I do not expect that to translate on here.

So it's immature to swear? Sorry dad. What else translates to immaturity for you? Nice disguised sledge by the way.

I understand there are rules on here, wasn't aware abbreviations were so it won't happen again.

did you see any storm players carry on like this when Greg Inglis left ?
no they got on with their job, and played good footy.

This is what happens when you let the lunatics run the asylum. We need a strong coach who will not kowtow to prima donnas. Either play good footy or introduce yourself to the reserve grade coach.

This is what should happen in all clubs. Preform or be dropped. That's what happens in all the work places i've been but then the boss has never chucked me into positions I am not qualified for or have no idea how to do.

This guy seriously needs his handlers to slap some reality into him. If not, bye bye benji. Farah can have your salary.

Again you people have missed my point. Moltzen should be at half not fullback, Benji should be at 5/8 not 7, Beau should be 5 winger not fullback or centre,Chris Lawrence should be 4 centre not 5/8, Fulton has no right to be 5/8\. If everyone is playing out of position then you have chaos. oh sorry you have the Wests Tigers
