Should Tedesco Get Picked ?

Whilst we are all picking an inexperienced fullback for first grade, why not give another inexperienced player a go as well.

John Grant in place of Utai. He is not as inexperienced as Tedesco, (he has played first grade and representative rugby for a number of years), is bigger and taller than Utai, can catch a high ball ( some of you think that it will be raining bombs from the Sharks), can run half and hour in twenty minutes (which means he is so much faster than Utai it is not funny).

If we are so keen on giving Tedesco a go then why not Grant?

i think the result shows the answer here. to me it is as simple as playing a position, earning it with your performance. why be disadvantaged simply because of age? as a younger player, it is your goal to do exactly what he has done and should be rewarded as such.

no brainer. cant wait to see him play.

I would give him a go based on his game against the rorters and reports of his form against parra, initially I didn't think he should be rushed in but Sheens has picked him for the trials so maybe he is the exception give him a go and see.

I agree Col,Teddy and Grant both in for round 1,they could be anything by mid season.

By 'representative rugby' you mean rugby 7's don't you Col? :unamused:

Sheens won't pick Grant, and if i had to guess i reckon it will be halfway into the season before we see him, if at all. Why have 2 guys in the back 3 with no FG experience with the amount of experience we have in the backs at full strength. Its time to accept he won't be there methinks

Yes. Get him the additional experience now rather than trying to do it mid season.

The thing that hasn't been mentioned in discussions about Tedesco , is his physique .
He looks very fit , and does appear to be carrying some muscle on his upper body , and has good sturdy looking legs.
He is not a skinny kid by any measure . His physique means his age is irrelevant . It becomes just about ability , which he clearly has .

I definately this is the answer. I think Sheens needs to manage his body, if this involves resting him every 6 or 7 weeks, or something similar so be it.
It is a big ask on his body to play 26 rounds plus finals, i think it needs to be watched closely

Yes! He looks to be very confident playing fullback with the NRL squad and he's not small. Give him a go!

Hope the scoreline is the same as the amount of people voting for Teddy 77-2

Teddy will probably get a hat trick with that scoreline
