Should the NRL take the next step with Rickys' rants

If Ricky Stuart was a player and he continually broke the laws of the game he would be suspended by the NRL

So why does Ricky get free rein every time his team gets within a converted try of another team and whinge / swear about the bad refs calls

Forget the fines , he doesn't obviously care about them Sit him out for a week or two for bringing the game into disrepute

Might be a good thing for Canberra as they might get a decent coach for a week or two

One of the most arrogant individuals to ever grace the game.

100% agree….... he should be fined $100k and it should be paid by HIM not the club(as they have done in the past)...But then again, what's $100k to Sticky when he is on $7m over 7 years!...pocket money!

I say enjoy it while it lasts. A lot of people talk about how good rugby league was back in the day with so many characters around. Professionalism (and political correctness) has taken a lot of those characters out. RS is the biggest (insert expletive) going around, but gee it's fun watching his post-match press conferences.

Ricky is the most narcissistic man I can think of involved in Rugby League. After every loss it's all about how he was dudded, how the refs don't give his guys a fair go. The only time he can ever accept responsibility is when it is so obvious that he has to choice.

No-one listens to Ricky anymore….especially not his players.

He shredded any semblance of credibility when he walked out on the mess he made at Parra...'for family reasons'.

I reckon they should take the next step and terminate his contract and perma-ban the idiot.
He's a cancer to any club and I'm shocked any club would make him an offer.

Raiders connection is there but he'll tear them apart too.
Moses Pangai should be starting centre there and won't get a look nor will he get good coaching, we should've kept him.

@Milky likes this post.

Dont worry about Ricky,
The NRL like most in the community know that his ability and results across 4 clubs will see him and his ranting resolved.

Parra players not missing him, quote.

Apart from the fact that Stuart only complains when it hurts his team what he is saying is all too true.
The current crop of refs are HOPELESS and cost different teams a victory every week.
If it puts the game in disrepute by merely saying out loud what everyone knows is the truth then, I'm sorry, the game deserves to be held in disrepute.

There isn't a another game that attacks it's officials like Rugby League. I m in the minorit, I reckon they are not too bad despite making erors like every other person on the planet, they get one look from one angle in full motion, we get a dozen replays in slow motion from numerous angles than crucify them for getting it wrong.
The slow motion replays also force black and white rulings for the video ref, like everything else in the world, nothing is black and white and we get rulings that are confusing. Commentators who haven't moved on from 2002 don't help either.

As for Ricky, I can't stand him as a bloke, so my comments are biased.
But I think his comments are disrespectful to the refs the game as a whole.
It also sends the wrong message to the players, it says the message that what they dished up yesterday was good enough and it wasn't their fault.
It creates a culture of excuse makets

the coaches are perfectly fine to criticise the refs all they want. The reason that stuart got fined last year is because he said "and there were a couple of even up penalties at the end" implying that the refs had an agenda, and attacking the integrity of the referees. That is NOT allowed, hence the 10k fine.

Also, swearing might be an issue but im not sure.
