Should we make a play at Toovey?

What's wrong with Geo , he's available

He's unproven at NRL standard. I mean, just look at the team he has selected this week - a bunch of old has-beens, with a smattering of rookies. Oh wait….that's the Tiger's team

But he hasnt lost the dressing room yet
Admittedly he has a bit of trouble finding it after a few pre-game drinkies, But with a bit of help he usually manages to stumble in, in time for his pre game rant
Occasionaly he ends up in the oppositions room , but the bruises and cuts are healing nicely. lol

The last thing we need is a new coach and a new three year plan. The board gave him a three year gig so we should stick with him and with a little luck he maybe able to convince a few players to head over to the ESl and convince some NRL standard players to our club.

With our roster for this year a bottom four finish was always going to happen and probably the spoon is on the cards

Whether you think we should or not is irrelevant.

The fact is that we're broke, and we will likely not be paying out another coach.

JT is here for three years, while I'm rather un-enthused at the moment, I'll judge him at the years end after recruitment has taken place for next season.

Exactly right CB,the last thing we need is the weight of paying out yet another coach…

We all said the new coach has been given three years, let him have it on the proviso we recruit some much needed skilful players next year as promised...after mid 2016 will be judgement day.....

One thing that hes going to have a big problem with ,is getting back- up for our halves next year ,as by now its obvious that no ones going to get dropped and as Austin and now Drinkwater has seen their ability will not come into it as they will never get a chance'' so what half, 5\8 would be stupid enough to come here, And why would Martin want to stay.

Im not sure if the club and Coach dont want anyone else playing 5-8 at all , as ,if he went well , they would look stupid for paying an unproven kid so much money
I hope , in a couple of years time, we are not looking at Cap problems because of money we paid out prematurely

Is there a point to threads like this? What we think is irrelevant. Whether we think we should or not, the club won't.

We might as well discuss whether or not the club should poach Thurston.

These are threads driven on emotion GNR. No one likes to see the club playing poorly. We've been ordinary of late, let the people vent.

I would love Toovey as a coach. He's passionate and doesn't talk from a script. He's an ''in the trenches" kind of guy and has the runs on the board both as a player and coach. But it's not ever gonna happen until at least the end of next year and of course only if JT was given the boot. By which time Toovey would be locked in elsewhere anyway I'd think. We're destined for another newbie. Either a Walters, Parish, Barrett, or maybe another ex coach - someone like Nathan Brown or God save us, Steve Price if he's still a water runner then. We'll see in due course I guess.

That's right CB, if we can't vent here where else can we vent?

I will do it for a PIE and 2ltr's of Red Cordial a week…

I don't believe this thread is happening already - it's like Deja Vu (2014) Ooooh!

I thought it was the Australian way to give a bloke a fair go - obviously not.

7.92% of his contract completed or (11 weeks into a 72 week contract) - you want to get rid of him. Your idea of a fair go is different to mine.

Vent all you like - but you obviously don't get the concept that the Board accepted from Taylor - which he is implementing. You don't like it so get rid of him.

Which is exactly what happened last year only it was the players who wanted to get rid of Potter.

Don't worry about the "SPOON" - well get the trophy for having more coaches than any other team in the NRL.

why we have taylor a coach is only as good as players he has .I wasn't a taylor fan when he came and the way we played on Saturday was shocking but we have he for 3 years like it or lump it.he has to buy players for next season no to toovey

Taylor has been here since september 2014,that is 8 months into a 36 month contract, that is around the 22% not 7.92%, so he should have had some sort of attack in place by now,or am I too impatient.
http://www.dailytelegraph.com.au/sport/nrl/wests-tigers-have-named-jason-taylor-as-the-new-head-coach-of-the-club/story-fni3gpz1-1227074079338

Atm Taylor is doing what he thinks is best for the club sure it sucks to be us arm But he is getting our defence in order and the old saying get your defence right first and the attack will look after it self I for one like wat Taylor is doing arm with the defence hate losing but he did say at the start the club as a hole is starting from scratch so I'll leave judgement till this time next year

Of course we can't get rid of him. That would just cost the club more money.
But, couldn't we just put him somewhere and say we forgot where he was??
