Using scarves that say 'show your stripes' it's just embarrassing. Why not just ask fans to raise their own scarves, or give generic orange, black and white scarves in all membership packs? Just give the corny stuff to the kids membership packs

I've never been to a Storm home match.

I was trying to think of something where you could chant "Tigers" in beat with the song, i.e. in place of "Thunder".

Main issue with Eye of The Tiger is you can't sing it, you can't chant it and you can't choreograph to it. It's a great 80s Tiger-style anthem but it's not for crowd involvement.

“We are the champions” by Queen?

How could Tigers honestly sing "Champions", or the other suggestion "glory days" when we have almost no history in either category? Farcical!

I think you have it backwards, I think the scarves were included precisely for the Show Stripes campaign, rather than being roped in after the fact.

It's precisely the resistance to these initiatives that explains why we don't have a pre-existing song or fan sing-along. Every British club has a dozen but as Australians we struggle to get over our inhibitions. A lot of Aussies won't even sing the anthem for fear of embarrassment (and I'm talking the non-indigenous kind of resistance to singing).

Yeah Queen's I want it all would be better.
It should be the motto and mindset they go into the 2021 season with anyway.

The question is, where was the fan engagement on this? Who did they consult to help construct this idea? Obviously they'll never be able to please everyone with a marketing idea, but they seem to have missed the mark by a long distance here. If they have a member's feedback group then it's not a balanced representation of the actual fan base.

Surely you realise the irony of claiming Tigers "seem to have missed the mark" and that there may have been a lack of fan engagement or balanced fan representation, and yet assume you yourself know what that fan feedback would look like?

I say "assume", because you are pre-judging what "hitting the mark" is, based on what I assume is *not* your own fan engagement research or consultation. It hasn't been used at a single match yet.

For all you know they may have engaged multiple platforms, this may in fact be the majority preference amongst those platforms? It may be like the National Anthem, where a lot of people did not vote for the ultimate winner and it was not a majority decision, but it was still the most popular choice. I don't know either way, I don't know who they consulted.

For the record I am not enamoured with this particular strategy, but I also honestly can't claim to have any expertise in predicting what's going to go down well with the majority of fans. I also don't think "You'll Never Walk Alone" is that good either, in and of itself as a club song, but it's the 53+ thousand Anfield fanatics that carry it across the line.

Also, unfortunately, I feel the club wastes money every year with the members paraphernalia - I don't want or need trinkets - scarves or hats or lanyards or keyrings. That being said, I'm not employed in fan engagement.

At least, with these particular scarves, they were distributed with a specific intent for member engagement.

You ever listened to glory days? Fits pretty tightly with our one brilliant season when the club was the talk of the rugby league world but now hasn't been competitive for so long. The world was at our feet. 15 years later and the club has not played in the finals for nearly 10 years and the same players who were in that 05 game are still hanging around or recently retired and the club still pumps out promo videos through various digital outlets talking about 05 reunions and the 05 year in general.

Again the simplest way of keeping fans focused is winning games ....I think back to 2010 -2012 ...how many videos did Bonstonker do ...the amount of Forum fans was way more ......they were exciting times .....we thought and acted like potential premiers ...now I'll be over the moon if we get 9th ....

Again the simplest way of keeping fans focused is winning games ....I think back to 2010 -2012 ...how many videos did Bonstonker do ...the amount of Forum fans was way more ......they were exciting times .....we thought and acted like potential premiers ...now I'll be over the moon if we get 9th ....

That part I actually agree with, I can't ever be happy with 9th though. I want that feeling of heading to a finals game, the nervousness all day leading up to the game. I'm ready for that feeling again.
