Sick of it now. Lets move on....

really. over the time i have been a poster on here, i have been one of the biggest critics of benji marshall.

i think it is a good move for wests tigers that he will no longer be at the club as of next season.
when he was going just awfully (before he picked up in the '10 and '11 seasons) i had had enough of him costing the tigers games with all of his mistakes (we all know them now… the passes to the 3rd row, kicks on the full, etc).

i even started a thread called "the tigers need to get rid of benji" during that time that caused huge uproar! i honestly felt really bad with how i had upset so many of you guys. i was only thinking of the club.

in all of his career with the tigers, i think if we have a truly objective look at what he has given them on the field, and what the tigers have done by sticking with him i think he has come out of it all the better of the two parties.

now he is leaving, i read all of the comments on here and want to put forth in a new thread what i think:

i cant believe marshall ever gave to the tigers anything but all he was capable of. as a person, i have never met him and have never judged him on a personal level. i just think that he is not that great a rugby league player. in the beginning, he was something different and the opposition didnt know what to do against him. but apart from his little renaissance, where he actually became a good 5/8, he has just been too predictable a player...with his "unpredictability".

being so "unpredictable" has cost the tigers far more than it has benefitted them.

i have no bitterness. no "he should have stuck by the tigers after they stuck by him all these years". no "i cant believe they are letting the most potent attacking weapon the tigers have ever had" or anything like that.

to me it is simple. it is a case of someone who promised so much but in the end didnt work out. it happens.

all i want to say is thank you benji for giving your all to the tigers, and good luck for what may come next.

Benji leaving is like getting a divorce. Your never happy about about its probably for the best. Thanks for that flick pass because that's how I WANT to remember him

Benji had that which you couldnt teach…. unfortunately coupled with the inability to learn and develop.

No hate... just a short and sharp run down of what kills most of us about him as a footballer.

Cannot move on until he is gone as tonite yet again showed

People will be amazed at what this club can achieve when he is gone , he must be unbelievably hard to play outside or inside of

Yes occasionally you will get a Magic ball , but 80 percent of the time it will either be behind you , a hospital pass ,a kick you had no idea was on or a ball you need stilts to get near

Not a great game for those who ventured out to the game. The end is neigh.

In a sense reminded me of the Newcastle game last season just after Robbies mum passed away , soon as the game turned we seemed to turn our toes up and stopped playing tough and wanted to be pretty boys

Why does this side always search for the easy option instead of hanging tough

Were not like the storm that can grind down a team. We are the flashy play team, and because of that, we either just win or loose badly. I know Potter is trying to instill some structure, but it works in patches only. You can see it when it works, if only we could do it for the full 80.

I'm sorry shoosh, but I think yours was a bad post. What the tigers have been trying to do since 05 is be consistent. And by that I mean trying to win. The days of the run and gun are so far back I can't even remember them!!

Sorry man, but I think you are still about 8 years behind…

He's not the only one behind. Most commentators still call us the razzle-dazzle team but we haven't been that for many years now. With Benji leaving the team we will be far more stable and structured, the way it appears potter wants us to be
