my issue with McQueen is that he is covered with tats; we are a football club not a motorcycle gang, how dare he contemplate putting on the black gold and white jersey with those tats!

Now I've heard it all

Will we sign only blondies with blue eyes as well

Sarcasm,me thinks.

I hate how people can't read it the way i read it in my head haha
i have no issue with people that make mistakes; unless they repeatedly make those mistakes. lets face it, most footballers aren't the smartest people around, they don't have that ability to think before they act which leads to people bubbling, drink driving and assaulting women. I don't condone it, but if it is a one of mistake it's kind of forgivable

One mistake can end up killing someone

At least many of the young kids coming through have to be studying or getting a trade behind them

McQueen is hardly dynamic and my opinion is we don't need to use our cap on him. It is not difficult for a forward to look top class when he is playing in a forward pack such as Souths have had for the past two years. By the way I haven't yet checked whether he has a record of any law infringement notices served by police. I do know however that he was playing with a star fullback who had a doubtful record.

. Once again I couldn't give a rats about tatts if they have a biff of the field or get caught speeding or get on the drink there not perfect & let them have freedom outside of footy I got nothing against that but a woman bashing is far far worse.

The fact is rugby league is a physically violent sport that does happen to attract some elements of society that most people in the community find vulgar, uncouth, feral and downright criminal….it has always and will always be that way.
Maybe croquet or badminton is more in tune with some members philosophies

That's a total crock. There are plenty of rough, ill-educated and downright stupid men on and off the football field who would never dream of hitting their partners. You're the one dehumanising these guys by assuming they're basically violent animals to whom normal rules don't apply.

And don't try the "tabloid goss" garbage, either. Avua'a was convicted in court; if anything, the disgraceful thing is how little the media talks about wife beaters in the game. Compare how little you hear about prominent wife beaters compared with the hoo ha about Paul Gallen's sweary Twitter.

Let me ask you a question: would you be happy if the Tigers signed a good player who also happens to be a convicted paedophile? Just once, mind - surely he's owed a second chance? No? Well that's how I feel about wife beaters. Maybe it's just a question of where you draw the line. I'm find with guys who've had a fight or two, or, say, pissed in their own mouths. But yeah, wife beaters are scumbags.

Talking about good players, a week or two ago plenty on this forum were pushing for Greg Bird to be signed up for Wests Tigers.

The only new players I would like at the wests tigers are players who want to come here and want to play for a team that I think is on the verg of some good times

It's not about playing for a team anymore, it's all about the almighty dollar. That's why the most important person at every club is the person who can balance the salary cap right. Having a Mr. Big on the sidelines handing out brown paper bags goes a long way to a successful club as well.

Can someone please explain how this thread went from a possible signing of a forward who has no previous police record to a thread where we should/ shouldn't sign players who have FFS get back on the fuching topic

Well said.. so who have we signed and are we gonna sign..? where's the Greg Bird thread gone, any more news on this development..? Now I see there is a Isreal Folau thread that we have signed him for 4 years..when from ..? cause isn't the world cup rugby played in Aust/NZ the season 2014/15 so he be playing in that surely.

The sad fact is that Wests Tigers do not have any important signing news. Hence the divergence from the actual topic to one where forum members seem only to want to discuss their stance on morality issues.

I don't think we'll be signing anyone of note for next year, possibly due to having mismanaged (and I mean that in the nicest possible way) the salary cap in past years but with the appointment of Phil Moss and Jason Taylor I'd hope that we'll begin to turn around that particular Titanic, however being the large ship that it is, it will take a year or two - providing we don't hit the iceberg first.

I agree mate, over the next 12 months I think we will see some dead wood move on and we will be a bit more active for the 2016 season.

I think the most important signing news has been announced this week…the new S&C team.....without them our players and the team have no chance to be competitive in 2015
