Why settle for Proctor…Taumalolo is available in 2018...that guy can play...

Love your thinking… Add Jesse Bromwich to the list!

If storm can't afford Bromwich and Proctor then they have salary cap issues

They're having a lend of you WBT. Bromwich and Taumalolo are as likely as Proctor.

Storm struggling to maintain Kevin Proctor.

I think we should make a bit of a play at him.

I think other clubs will beat us on this one.

Still worth a try though.

Struggling ?

He's contracted to the Storm for 2 more years .

All that's happening is maybe a compassionate release to be with his family on the Gold Coast .

Relocating the WTs to SE Qld to compete for the signature of a backrower might be a bit extreme IMO .

He will get released from the storm this off-season.

Don't know how much Gold Coast have offered him yet. All I know is it is being described as 'attractive'

If we can post an offer higher than Gold Coast then we may be in with a chance.
This is a massive 'if'

If he's being released on compassionate grounds to go home to SE QLD, how do we come into calculations to compete unless we have plans on relocating?

I guess it's "compassionate" to release someone so they can accept more money.

The Broncos are the kings of the "compassionate grounds signing"…. Proctor will probably end up there. And then Bromwich, and then Taumalolo, it would be nice to have a bottomless supply of cash like they have up at Unca Wayne's club. Definitely helps you stay competitive year after year.

Hold up isn't Proctor a Kiwi…NZ that's in QLD..

Watto and I were not having a lend..it's a major issue with this Club fans complain and moan and groan like above about the Glamour Clubs and how they can target this player and that player..It is because they are better at working the systems than we are...

Instead of crying poor Wests Tigers should be getting better at it...We should be able to target the likes of Taumalolo and Bromwich ..players of that calibre when they become available on the Market..another issue is paying too much for our current squad... ...then Instead we are still stuck with aiming at Idris...woopee doo...

So true.. We have to make our club a very attractive place to come to. To do this we need money, sucess, great culture and facilities. This will not happen over night, but I am confident Pascoe has us on the right path

Loyal fans are attractive.

IMO we are the most loyal fans in the NRL. Maybe just beating Newcastle.

Playing in front of a packed Leicharddt Oval is also very attractive.

Maybe if we crack into the top 8 in 2017 players would like to come to our club and be part of our future success. Along with the likes of Idris, Tedesco, Moses ect.

But agree. I think Pascoe does have us on the right path

When weighing up reasons to come here, i can assure you those 2 factors would be at the bottom of list of reasons why to come here. Players don't think about that stuff like supporters. They'll weigh up the money on offer and stability of the club on and off the field. Supporters and suburban grounds would be given a moment of consideration.

If you were a player would you prefer loyal fans and Leicharddt Oval or not.

In terms of those 2 reasons we are towards the top of the NRL.

It may just get us over the line when we propose similar offers to other clubs

I think the second they would consider (after $) is the coach. We are not strong in that department.

I have to disagree with you there.

Imo second after $$$ is players at the club.

If Tedesco backflipped to stay with his mates then we are strong in that department.

The bigger clubs may be better at working the system than we are like you suggest. But there is also the very real possibility of them finding better ways to rort the system (as in the case of Andrew Gee pulling the pin on his job at the Broncos, disappearing into thin air and refusing to answer any questions the NRL were supposedly asking). Can't remember off the top of my head what the rumours were surrounding his sudden departure.
Also the bigger clubs would have access to more potential TPA suitors you would think. More TPA's=better quality players on your roster=sustained success. You either have outside parties throwing cash at your clubs' players or you don't and that creates a huge divide in the competition IMO.

You assume players would think this because you do and don't really understand there is a lot more to decisions than supporters and grounds. As i said, there's a supporters way of thinking what a player sees as factors and then there is what they would really take into account.

I'm still not 100% sold on Pascoe…he says a lot of the right things but still comes across to me with to much corporate speak..there have also been a couple of things that make me think twice early on in his tenure....he certainly appears to be positioning the Club for the long term...but a lot of it we have heard before with a great deal of sugar-coating in hindsight..

We are entering a defining stage with increases in the Cap..we are in a better financial position off the field than we have ever been...Our core group of keepers are off-contract so it will be a big test for him so I hope you are right...

Stability to players mean the ability to get their money.

Players leave their existing clubs for three reasons:-

1\. Money
2\. To get a first grade spot.
3\. They aren't wanted.

We can attract players if we have the money and the player is interested in leaving their current club.
