Signing Rumours..

Egan..Summary

* Hasn't missed a finals series since 04 with Clubs he's been involved with..

* Buoyed by the attitude in the Club….

* Club not on his alone with players off contract not only the big 4 Teddy Woods Broses

* On Coaching staff working on keeping the Team in Games for longer

* Taylor under no more pressure than any other NRL Coach with regard results ..the Club as a whole knows they need to make the finals confident they can build on the improvement in 2016...has come from a successful Club (Dogs) where even there questions are asked,,

* On retaining the Big 4 we are keeping negotiations internal the aim is to build around them and is confident that can happen ..Obviously if a Club comes with massive overs there is not much you can do..

* Jamal is a big Unit...

The mental side of staying in games is what they need to work on most…. Glad they think the D is ok :brick:
Disappointing... Heard it all before

Good first impression hey

Seems like I didn't miss much.

I don't agree that brooks was a better player under potter. I think we just judged him less harshly. All young players struggle with inconsistency but given that we haven't got the experienced players around them to take over when they are struggling our get exposed for everyone to see.

It's a giant leap from under 20's to nrl star. Brooks was elevated before his time and has been learning on the job. He was lauded as our saviour placingveven more pressure on him (sign of a weak club clutching at straws).

Brooks will make it if he keeps his head and works hard ie. becomes a professional. If I was making decisions on pricing his new contract it would be around attitude and application to training. I don't like some of the whispers I am hearing re brooks and I think you can see this in his game. You gotta do the hard work so you are confident you can hold your own and have the confidence of the other players. There are no weeks off at nrl level.

Agree with you Larry - I also think he can make it.

Brooks has to do the hard yards ( or should that be metres now) and knuckle down at training, From all reports he is doing that. The NRL is not a place to be shy and go into your shell and just go through the motions.

Brooks needs to stand up and grab the game by the scruff of the neck when we need him to do that. He and Moses complement each other and have through their earlier careers. With the previous dummy half gone - they both should get early service from the PTB to enable them to have more time to think and put their brilliance into operation. Ballin and Liddle both give good quick service and Liddle has a good running game to also put the opposition in two minds.

All we need are the forwards to stand up, which I think they will, to most packs and Brooks will have no excuse for not doing his bit. If he wants the big dough - this is a make or break year.

Serious question - are either of you guys concerned that Brooks and Moses don't really seem to play all that well together? For 2 blokes that have played all their Juniors together and are supposedly best mates, it really doesn't show on the field much, imo. I was hoping that they could transfer their lower grade 'chemistry' into the NRL, but it doesn't seem to be working too well at present. I really think they both play better when the other one is not there. Competing for control of the game perhaps? If so they need to sort it out soon.

What does this mean?

My bad..typing to fast and auto correct…It was a response to the question about the Club having 21 players off-contract in 2017...Egan responded with we are not alone in that situation with a lot of players off contract with all Clubs ...A lot are awaiting to find out what the salary cap will actually be in 2018 ..

He also said it's not just about the big 4 but working to keep others as well ...I'm assuming the likes of Seumanufagai Grant Nofoaluma Simona Aloiai et al..

Anyhow you can listen to the full interview here for yourself...

Disappointing... Heard it all before

I would of liked to hear the D mentioned as well Ink

But D is a mental thing , if they compete for 80 minutes the D has to improve 😛ray:

Can't spell defence?

Definitely need to find ways to hang in games when momentum goes against us. We have shown that we can match it with the best for periods but when it swings against us we fold up. I remember against Cronulla last year we were belting them, I'm thinking how far and then they muscled up and destroyed us.

We need less players like sirro and more like Thurston.
