Signing Rumours..

Even taking into account Farahs $700k….....other clubs also carry forward contracts and even high money injured players.....eg RTS....he's on $1M a year at Warriors....played half a dozen games this year.
Every club has $500k to a $1M a year sitting on the sidelines and they still are not hamstrung putting a high value team on the park.

Should be no different for us.

Even Our highest paid players.....Moses,Teddy, Brooks pretty much played most of the season.....so we didn't have 3-4 key players on the sidelines for extended periods. All of our other players simona, nofo, Kevie and most of the forwards also played most of the year, so injuries were very friendly for us.

So if pretty much everything went our way........what can we expect if we have 3-4 bad injuries to key players.....finish dead last then ????????

Really good post. Despite the negativity on here we are in the same position as probably every other club when it comes to paying players overs in certain situations.

We've had a decent run with injuries recently but at the same time we've bet on players like Brooks and Moses that have been inconsistent. I think that this is cool because they've also shown a lot of potential. So I think Brooks and especially Moses have improved a lot. They may become more consistent players. So you'd expect us to be more consistent next season.

If they play consistent footy in 2017 1 if not both of them will play origin in the new couple of years

I know this has nothing to do with the Tigers but anyway.

Parramatta have signed a young kid that will be a superstar in the future.

His name is Blaise Barnes. Store that name away because this kid has potential.

I won't say much more, just watch the video.

Let's just be honest - the decision to pay out Robbie is all on Taylor and the current admin. That isn't an excuse plus plenty of clubs would also have bad deals on their books.

Uh, it's on the board. Taylor doesn't execute those types of decisions, the board does.

I'm pretty sure JT had a lot to do with that decision.

Anyway the point is that Taylor and the current admin of the club don't have excuses or reasons for not doing well.

No hablas ingles?

I said that Taylor doesn't execute those decisions, as he does not have the power. At the end of the day the board has to stamp it, so they were certainly complicit and supportive of it.

I don't doubt that the board backed Taylor but Taylor instigated the whole drama.

Just a tidbit from Mole

Taufua & Naiqama on the Wolves radar
>
Cashed up English club Warrington is raiding the NRL and has its sights on signing **a classy outside back**.
>
The Wolves are torn between two contenders – Manly winger **Jorge Taufua** and Tigers centre **Kevin Naiqama**.
>
Both are under contract for 2017 but would be released by their clubs under the right conditions.
>
Manly are chasing blokes left right and centre and need to shed players to avoid making the salary cap look a complete farce, while the Tigers are ready to cut Naiqama loose to sign Jamal Idris.

They must have plenty of cash if they're going to sign a classy outside back AND Taufua or Naiqama.

I prefer that to when there is too much info coming from HQ, don't you think?

I noticed that Ken Sio is eyeing a return to the NRL but what amazes me is that Penrith have shown interest in the guy, not to mention the Knights. How many outside backs do the Panthers need, I realise the Jennings boys and Hardcastle have moved on and that DWZ & Whare have been linked to other clubs but at this stage are still on the Panthers books. Some clubs such as Panthers, Sharks & Broncos in particular are linked to every player coming off contract.

Not that Sio is a world beater but the Tigers surely need outside backs yet no mention of them being in discussions, however we supposedly came in with a late offer for Tony Williams which indicates there may be some room left under the cap (or this may eventuate once Sirro or Kev or both are moved on).

I know right? Whinge when the club leaks like a sieve, then whinge when they plug up the leaks.

Why settle for Proctor…Taumalolo is available in 2018...that guy can play...

I agree… that's not asking much is it Geo ? . Boy that would be a dream signing , it would give so many of our forwards good momentum taking a hit up after a Taumalolo carry...nothing wrong with dreaming .
It seems Cowboys are well and truly trying to wrap him up going of this article .

I stumbled across this Podcast which was an interesting listen ( Not sure if it's been posted here ) it was the views of Nathan Ryan , Ben Glover and Ben Ikin . It talks about there opinion on how they think our Season really went and what lays ahead for us . At the 7 minute mark of the Podcast they start talking about Wests Tigers and then 13 and half minutes into the Podcast Justin Pascoe is interviewed .

Very refreshing report from Pascoe and a good insight , it seems that Jason Taylor is held in high regard by the people within our Organisation.

My apologies if this has been on already.

As crazy as it sounds, i think the club from top to bottom is finally on the same page.

So do i actually .

I suppose we might all have opinions which players , Coaches , CEO's etc…. is the future for our Organisation but one thing is clear we need to be on the same page moving forward and if the players don't want to buy into our Business plan structure well there's the door , no matter how good you are .

We as an Organisation can't keep fighting amongst each other , it does us no favours from players , fans the works.

Hoping for a better 2017 and beyond and hopefully a Semi Final berth 😛ray:

I wouldn't be looking into next year yet as the top 25 has not been finalized as yet, ET and Idris has yet to formally sign on and their is rumors that kevvy is being shipped around so we have enough money to sign the 2 players above, who knows their could be more players on the outer that we have yet to hear about

I don't know how the Titans can even talk to Proctor and it pisses me off so much. This sport is a laughing stock. Proctor is contracted for another 2 years at the Storm and yet another club can offer him more money so he can try and pull out of his existing contract early! And then his current club (even if in this case it's the bloody Storm) get nothing.

If a club wants to sign another clubs player for more money, while they're under contract then fine, but that club should have to pay a transfer fee to that club, or offer them a player in return. No other sport has players dictating where they will play like league does! Trades/selling players is a normal part of almost every sport on the planet!

Couldn't agree more, the current system is a farce on so many levels. Hopefully the new CBA will improve in these areas, but I wouldn't be holding my breath.
