Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

Lack of speed, and height in our outside backs, along with no real goal kicker will bites us in 2019\. When your a boarder line top eight side you can not afford to be dropping games because of poor goal kicking. Anyway so far we have not addressed these issues and with one spot left, it’s hard to see things getting fixed

I agree that height is definitely an advantage in the backs - that’s why I couldn’t understand everyone banging-on about getting Tyrone Peachey (ball boy size).

Don't you mean Tyrone Peachey (ball size) lol

We need some more depth in the centres. Marsters is good, don't get me wrong, but we need a dominant centre on the other side, someone as aggressive as Latrell

i don't think we will be getting any more signings for a while… considering how long the zane musgrove one took.....and when it did happen, all hell broke loose and the forum crashed

I am sure we will see a few more before Xmas due to salary cap pressures on a few clubs

We only have one vacant spot on our roster, so without offloading a contract or two we will only be making one signing. As for getting rid of a contracted player, you have to find a club who is interested and have cap space

Doesn’t look like Hess is going anywhere, sorry Geo.

We have potentially 4 more slots if we can move players on to better opportunities. McQueen and Rochow superfluous with Eisenhuth and Taylor reaching time to see if there are opportunities elsewhere.

As with moving players on at anytime, WT will have to sweeten the pot and contribute some $$$$.

Rochow was Ok last year. Did his job and performed to expectations

McQueen is here for the duration of his contract. Shouldn't have been signed with the Neck injury

yeah, rochow should be given more chances to prove himself in 1st grade

He did at the start of the season but then he went down in confidence and then started playing not that well

McQueen was signed before his neck injury but he should never have been signed at all very poor signing

Agreed. Played very little first grade this year but has played origin. He needs to be released.

Damn..we thought we had him

I have to call in to question the medical and physical checks done on players before they sign, and before they actually start at the club. If McQueen was injured after he signed with WT but was injured with the Titans in his final time there, why the hell didn't we back out of the contract citing injury. Maybe there needs to be some form of insurance that the leagues clubs contribute to for only these circumstances. Not unnaturally he doesn't want to medically retire but sheez he has never really been able to recover previous form and WT are lumped with an incoming player badly injured whilst with another club.

McQueen - gets talked about lots and thats about it so far.

Yep. Bad signing and we're stuck with him unless another club somewhere feels the possibility with him.

I'd be inclined to see how close he is to medical retirement and put a rocket up him to perform or out. If he feels he can't go on, I don't begrudge him one bit. I would hate to have that neck injury and be frightened or wary about the next tackle. Maybe he just needs to admit it.

Good point. WT's management should hold off announcing any signing news until 2 a.m.

We just have to hope he regains some form this coming season. If he gets back to 90% of where he once was, he'll be great back up. If not - oh well! Can't win 'em all.

Paul Momorovski

Height at 1.91cm

Weight previously 88kgs but more than likely 95 to 100kgs when all is said and done.

Give me that kind of young player ahead of your SKD's, Moga's and Lee's thank you very much.
