Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

Lets face it Steph knocks back $4 mill as he wants to test open market ? Reality says virtually every player would prefer to play finals and win much more than losing !
Losing is depressing ! A top club would get him with $3.5 mill .

Should we pull the offer if he tests the market? We want players who want to be here.

The only reason i would pull the offer is if we wanted to allocate the money elsewhere, no point cutting our nose off despite our face. We could let him know we could let him know we are looking elsewhere and the money will not be there indefinitely that may force his hand one way or the other.
IMO his body language this year seems to suggest he made his mind up some time ago he wanted out or at very least to test his worth. I hope im wrong i think our offer is a decent one and i wouldn't be giving him anymore.

Stef would have known all along that this wasn't going to be a successful year. No one thought we would compete for the finals or top 4. With Luai and Turuva coming next year it's clear to everyone that next year is when expectations are due to change.

Stef also will not get more than our offer on the market. He hasn't proven himself enough to be in the top 4 best paid props in the game. So either he gets on the 2025 Luai excitement plan, or gets off the bus now for less cash.

Honestly....I have zero idea about how it works. Bud will want the difference, so I guess if we paid it up front, it could possibly go into this year's cap, but I'm just guessing.
I wonder if these scenarios if it goes beyond 'making up the difference' and goes to getting a payrise.
300k from england and 270k from us so he has incentive to take the deal.

I think he would go well there. Halves with sparkle normally do.

Perhaps to get around the cap issue in England, we could get a "transfer fee" from Hull and use that money to cover some of the difference.?

Didn’t the bus crash 2 years ago.

I don’t get “Flanagan has been killing it at the Dragons”
They have one a couple of more games than the Tigers
and I can’t see them making the top 8 either.
Flanners didn’t think he could get them to the 8 either, but I’ll think they’ll limp over the line.

Theyll be a lot closer than us anyways, but so will 16 other clubs.

The inevitability of the spoon. Let’s just volunteer for it now and cut out the wasteful middleman ( balance of season).

Spend the cash sending us members overseas to Fiji to re-energise.
