I have to believe the premiership victory is tainted now. That he was awarded the Sharks' coach of the half century is a reflection on the values of the club.

A real slap in the face for 5 time premiership winner Jack Gibson

Based on this logic Tim Sheens is the best ever coach of the NQ Cowboys.

He was if you were a WT's supporter , do you think Tim would have ended up here if he wasn't seen as a poisoned chalice

re Jennings.
He would be a great signing. Were missing a good ball playing Center with Marsters a defensive Center and Fonua inconsistent with Paul M Untested. But we can leave that open and see who steps up.

We have Mbye, Thompson and Nofo who can do Wing/Fullback. Perhaps Fonua can do wing as well (seems to be better as a center). Adding Jennings gives the backline Depth and would allow either Thompson or Mbye to be that off the bench/utility player.

My preference, put Jennings on the wing, move Thompson to Fullback and see if Parra will pay overs for Mbye! (Ok I don't like Mbye. No idea why we chased him hard and not Hopoate? Yet he hasn't stuffed up yet).

So…...... get rid of a bloke who hasn’t stuffed up yet
That’s as crazy as getting fined for a breach that didn’t actually occur............oh

Yea I know.
But your Fullback isn't meant to just 'not stuff up'. Ok in the 90's that was their role, keep the ball safe, bring it back.
Now the Fullback is a backbone of a scoring machine.

When I hear Robert Jennings is too expensive at $350K and Mbye is at 550K? (with Canterbury carrying some freight).
I am just like WHY? Next to Reynolds Mbye would be our most expensive signing and just being safe will not cut it.

Ok I just don't like Mbye. Hopoate would have been great instead.

I think you’re being harsh on him but that’s cool. I actually thought he was better than that last year. I thought he continued to improve and was quite dangerous in attack at times. A few posters say he is in and out of games. To be honest, I didn’t notice that.

Not sure why your hammering Mbye? He was the glue in the back line in the last quarter of the season.
Added speed, good defensively and throws a good line ball to the wingers.
Hopoate is a little older i think and not the kind of player id like to to see finish his career with us.
I really dont know what Mbye has done wrong since he joined us.

I like Mbye as well and I think he has finally found his place in the fullback role after struggling in the halves at Canterbury. I thought he came on in leaps and bounds for us last season.

Surprisingly though, after being named 18th man for Qld this year and playing well for us thereafter, there is now no mention of him at all in the emerging Maroons squad recently named.

I did hear unsolicited speculation that Danny Levi could be at WTs.

The same source took a call weeks before the coaching appointment was announced that Maguire had signed with WTs.

Been mentioned a few times.
I think he's a flop.

Talk of attitude problems too.
He's friends with my brother though and he says he's one of the nicest guys around.
