Not sure why there was so much hype
You need pressure for spots in the NRL team. Ideally, every guy picked in FG should feel pressure from someone in a lower grade to perform each week to hold their spot. There has been precious little of that over the past few seasons. The flip side of that coin is, when you finally get that depth in a squad, you have to accept that some will leave to lock down a regular first grade spot in a weaker team. I can't wait for the day whe Wests Tigers start losing fringe first graders to weaker teams!Well said The Chard.
A big part of our problem has been lack of depth and lack of quality in our replacements when our first choice players are unavailable.
Obviously with the NRL experience given to a lot of our young and inexperienced players, this should automatically be better next season, but we have to ensure there is genuine competition and decent quality cover for every position if we are to climb the NRL ladder in 2025.
I sometimes get sucked in to reading the first few lines of his columns. When I realise it is mostly dross and drivel, I check out who the author is and sure enough, Dane Eldridge. Time you will never get back!Dane Elderidge?

He might need to actually have some semblance of a career before he starts to take the mickey out of someone elses' you'd think?
i actually didn’t mind that. at least he can write unlike half the hacks at News Limited.Dane Eldridge is a grade A wanker … has plenty of shots at the Tigers over the year
Take both , at those amountsKobe Hetherington on $400k a season according to Badel. sheesh.
at this stage Horsburgh represents better value for money, even if he is worth an additional $150k.

the story is from a time when things were very stagnant. i think even Dane would agree we’ve come a fair way since then.
I think Horsburgh is a like for a like of Stef---minutes on deck and power, but IMO his attack 'n defence is stronger.Take both , at those amounts
ie. I hope we get Horsburgh?I think Horsburgh is a like for a like of Stef---minutes on deck and power, but IMO his attack 'n defence is stronger.
Hunt is the bonus tough block buster for the pack. Momentum changer.
We need the Kobe Hetherington types or similar; ie. mobile workhorses to balance the pack in defence and when depth/pressure/injury on incumbents is needed.
We have some already and fingers crossed Johannssen and Sukkar can add to that list.
I hope every day I win the lottery, and end up in the Maldives with m/s world , so far no good , but Iam still hoping 🤔😜Hope is a good thing...
