Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

I wonder where all this leaves Sione Fainu. He’s been good this year with a lot of up side and could be key to keeping the other 2 brothers. I hope he stays.

We can’t have many top 30 spots left especially if Bird and Horsburgh sign.
We actually can't fit in Bird and Horsburgh as is. We only have one spot atm.

A few have guessed moving Bateman on permanently is the only way we go for Bird so I would guess that is the way we free up the second spot.

From there I'm assuming Benji will do the same as he did with Seyfrath last year to Sione. Strike up a deal and wait until they clear up some space in the top 30 before they make it official and announce it.

Still waiting on an update on how Pole and Galvin's re-signing are going. Media reported we were trying to sort it all over the bye week but havnt heard anything yet from the club. These two have to be a priority as well as S.Fainu, no point signing new players if the guys we need to keep in our current squad take off.
Isn’t samuale signed for 4 years just like his younger brother ???

I can’t believe people are saying Kobe was average last night ?
I watched him bring energy and intent with every ball carry and every tackle and further confirmed he would be a great addition should we be able to sign him.
If we can somehow add Kobe Hetherington, Corey Horsburgh, Jack Bird and Reimis Smith I think we would have a roster good enough to be genuine top 8 contenders.
Reimis Smith is no superstar, but he would add much needed height and size to our backline.
If we can’t get Kobe Hetherington then Jack Williams would be ideal as I don’t think he’s staying with the Sharks beyond this season.

His carries were fine and he didn't do anything particularly poor, but his energy in defence was lack luster, usually 3rd man in and ineffective. He was slow getting up off the line (if at all).
He would also run a decoy or support line and then just turn his back to play, I saw 2 occasions where Carrigan took a carry and Kobe was the support player, Carrigan promoted the offload and Kobe was already jogging away from him.
Can't judge him on one game, especially since he's already got one foot out the door, but he was bad last night.

As a few others have mentioned, you would think the Broncos would only let him go if they land Corey Horsburgh, but you never know, they might be clearing the decks to try and land Sam Walker ?
We would also have to fight off other potential destinations such as the Titans and Dragons for Kobe, but I do think he would add a lot to us if we could land him.

We must have watched a different game. Thought his line speed was good

I definitely agree, but his father hates Wests Tigers. it would take some incredible diplomacy work on Richardson's part to fix it.
If not him, maybe Enari Tuala ?
Can play centre or wing, scores plenty of tries, tall, fast and good in attack and defence under the high ball.
Wouldn’t cost much at all, only downside is he’s been a little bit injury prone.

Does anyone know how to find and post Coreys interview from this year in his sit down chat on Fox it was one of the sit down chats they have after NRL 360 I watched a minute or two of it but had to go and and wanted to watch it he seems like a real character
If you have FOXTEL you should be able to stream it, search home page for show, and select episode

It's on kayo if you have it. Face-to-face with Jake Duke

Interesting. Since when did Richo start talking about recruitment to the DT prior to announcing a signing?

This feels weird.
What I find more interesting from this interview is the fact Richo mentioned twice about not wanting to block the paths of the young backs coming through. IMO this is a big nod to Large and Makasini, and hopefully means they have verbally committed to staying long term.
