Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

One can’t tackle? You do realise Turuva has a 74.3% tackle efficiency while Talagi had 80.6% this season? To put this in perspective his wing partner To’o was at the 89.6% while Tago was 88% Alamoti 83.7%

Based on statistics Turuva’s defence is quite poor compared to the rest of Penrith backs, in fact his defensive decisions resulted in him being dropped on 2 occasions this season by Ivan Cleary. Not saying he can’t fix it but a bit rich to say Blaize can’t tackle…
Wingers tackle efficiency stats are totally useless for so many reasons.

So out of interest, considering players left, and trust me i wasnt a fan of most except maybe Stefano i would of liked to of stayed but was dissappointing espiecially 2nd half of the season. Where do you see us finishing with the players with have signed til date .
Well there's a clear weakness in the forwards, particularly if we suffer injuries. Depth is a huge problem too.

The backs look competitive, at least on paper. Decent depth there.

If our attack takes all season to gel, like it did last year, then we will get a 4th spoon.

If we can maintain a potent attack all season, we should be able to achieve a 10 to 14 finish with the view of shedding some expiring contracts and replacing with better quality in the forwards for 2026.

I think that's the path we are on at the minute unless something changes with the roster.

Disagree, it adds to the point his defensive decisions were poor this year hence why he was dropped multiple times. Panthers fans I’m friends with say he is brilliant with the ball in hand but makes some bad reads which I agree with. There is a reason To’o & Turuva switched wings at the back end of the year

No. It isn't.

It was a comment on what each is known for (and was tongue in cheek in nature btw) not the comparison of one trait to the other. As in, I never stated Blaize couldn't tackle but Sunia can.

Besides, they play two, different positions. This directly impacts the nature of defensive involvements which can greatly impact something like tackle efficiency. Defensive reads are hard to metricise, but 'try causes' or 'line break causes' may give an indication.

I would argue, or suspect, that Blaize is a worse defender when all aspects of defence are to be considered.

Or, I may be wrong. I don't really care. This is not a hill I give a shit about, much less die on.

Zzzzzzzzz

"Manly have halves cover in the form of Jake Arthur, who missed a portion of last season due to stress fractures in his foot. They also recently signed Australian under-18s rugby flyhalf and captain Joey Walsh, who will step into the club’s top-30 roster in 2025, and Junior Wallaby Onitoni Large from Wests Tigers. Incumbent pivot Luke Brooks is also contracted long-term.Sea Eagles coach Anthony Seibold knows Boyd from their time together at Brisbane"

Didn't realise they signed Joey Walsh too,
What was O Large thinking man. Mistake.

Boyd?

I've not watched enough of the juniors this year to make any suggestions. I was just taking a stab on the original posters reasoning.. What makes you think he isn't the one though? and who do you think is?

Matamua was the one for me as he just looks completely overwhelmed any time he plays. He did have a great game mid - late this year though.. I can't remember against who, but he came on and completely changed the game, then when he was taken back off we fell to pieces.
ive never seen Matamua own a game yet,nor have i seen any of our up n comers own a game either.in 1st or 2nd grade, whats with this shuffling them around out of position
