Having coffee at coogee this arvo, sam b, jarryd h and wade g.
Journos could have a field day with this

Tbh you'd be doing well to avoid NRL players in Coogee on a Saturday afternoon, especially when most are effectively on a bye.

This will be a blow to Moses' ego.

"Can I have a release, Ivan?"

"Sorry, mate. They'll only offer us De Gois and some 2nd-hand tackle bags as a swap."

"I think that is a pretty fair swap to be honest, Mitch"

I was thinking the same - the tackle bags would probably offer more resistance in defence.

Hey col, saw this on FB.

James Hooper has come out on triple M and said the Wests Tigers fans can expect a confirmation on the following players.

-Tui Lolohea (mid season from the Vodafone Warriors).
-Mahe Fonua (2018 from Hull FC - Official Facebook Page).
-Corey Thompson (2018 from the Widnes Vikings Rugby League Club).

Anyone know anything about Thompson?

Corey Thompson played for the Dogs a couple years back. From what I remember he looked really short but, apparently his 180cm. He went alright, he'd be a handy backup but I wouldn't have him as a regular first grader. He's not incredibly quick or acrobatic but, he lead his team with 27 tries last year. I'd imagine he'd play the majority of the year in ISP.

I think Thompson will be a Justin Hunt, Jordan Rankin type, lurking on the fringe. Fonua on the other hand should be a walk up start. Hell of a player.

Thompson used to find the line regularly for the Dogs when playing there. Very underrated.

I think that was mostly due to his teammates, I don't remember him being anything special.

Yep, agree with that. A left edge pairing of Suli and Fonua would be formidable and Milne/Nofo on the right…

If we trot those 4 out as our centre wing combo's next year I will be happy, should also leave plenty of dollars to strengthen the squad

What's happening re Milne signing? No news for quite a while. There was however a report on this forum that he also played badly yesterday.

Lolohea with fitness and confidence WILL provide that X Factor in broken play from fullback that our attack is going to need.
Fonua will provide some real grunt to the backline.
Thompson will start in ISP, and has far more ability than Heleta and Milone could ever dream of having.
This trio sure ain't Teddy, but we can get the 3 of them for far less than the 1.2m on offer for Tedesco and with money to sign more players.
Now to sign up some forwards, and hopefully Aidan Guerra ain't one of them.

Guerra started the season ok but he has been speed-humped twice in the last two rounds leading to tries. He's not committing well enough in defence, which is exactly what you don't want out of an experienced player.

Packer is the key signing we need he has great line speed and dominates tackles. Also has one of the quickest play the balls in the NRL. Would stiffen up our middle with Matulino which is why we get burnt on the edges.
Ava, Woods are below par with line speed and dominating the ruck.

I'd love Packer, Paasi, Fonua, Milne, Ferguson, LoLo, Naera out of the free agents out there.
