Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

He looks like a chump but actually he's an alright player and he'd come cheap. Perhaps the successor to Sauce Galloway too.

Des had Parker playing out of his skin till he got injured..

Manly fans agree his defence has been excellent and he has strong carries. However, this is the reality that he lacks pace and spark of any kind which seems to be consistent with our policy of no pace in the backs.

If you read this story he looks like he’s modelled his game off Fonua

For what its worth, Kurt Capewell could be on the move.
I sat with him on a flight from Toowoomba on Tuesday.
He was at home doing some fencing at his family's property when he got the call up for Origin.
Had to fly Toowoomba to Sydney to Perth.
Said he was close to going to the Tigers but really wanted to stay at the Sharks because he thought they were a good chance of a premiership.
Not overly confident the Sharks will keep him on with some good juniors coming through and the likes of Nikora making names for themselves.
He's hoping his Origin inclusion in the QLD squad will spike some interest from NRL clubs.

Really nice bloke, but Ive got a a cold and tried to spread some germs his way to take into the QLD camp 🙂

I'm hearing Tommy Talau and Alex Seyfarth...

That would be so disappointing. They will be in our NRL squad in less than 2 weeks in any case.

Effectively would be just an accounting exercise, admitting that we are incapable of signing anyone, and confirmation that we're not offloading anyone pre June 30.

Thx TT.

Sounds like the attitude of players is anyone but the Tigers.

This is our biggest issue at present. Our brand is not that one of a preferred employer.

Priority 1 or we will continue to have crappy players o crappy contracts with same rubbish results.

I know Pascoe is only just back and we are currently replacing Kegs but not one external signing and it is almost July must be really concerning

@Spartan117 Spot on... We need to improve what we offer and that starts with the training facilities.. You hear the players on Fox show talking about how good some of the clubs facilities are and the only players that say ours is fine are the current players because they have too :disappointed: . I believe we have the brand but also think we need to address the 4 home grounds as well and put the money into that ground.

Good backup backrower/outside back utility, not NRL starting standard.

Can't believe he's in the Qld squad, can miss a tackle or 12 as anybody who has had him in their fantasy team would know.
Hopefully for NSW sake he gets a run.

@TIGER Would be huge if we got him to partner matto in the backrow. He has been awesome this year and would easily add alot to our team.

It baffles me that people dont want him or rate him. The sharks have an awesome forward pack and up until graham got back he has been a huge contributor.

He's 3rd in the league in missed tackles.

@balmain-boy
Capewell 6th has and 83% 53missed / 372 made, 107 run meters per game
it is a little concerning but im taking him every day of the week over huth, rowdy, cheekam, garner, mcqueen

This would be the 2nd time Capewell has nearly joined us. Along with Christian Welch they are the closest 2020 signings we may have at the moment.
Very Close.

@hodgo Capewell would put Jennings, Nofoaluma and MCK to shame in terms of pace. I hope if he is recruited it is for the second row. We need genuine centres and wingers with excellent pace.

Thompson is a bargain compared to our other winger both in consistency of performance and contract $. We could buy 2 young up and coming outside backs with that $.

@hodgo Those stats are pretty crap. We don't need more liabilities. He's exactly the sort of player we must AVOID signing. We have MCK, who's just as good and even more dynamic. We can't waste our limited squad positions on squad fillers. We already have them. We can only replace squaddies if we're letting some of our existing ones go.

We desperately need fast wingers. We've resigned Thompson now, and still have Nof and Jennings, with Bradley looming too. Having re-signed Thompson we now need to try and release both Jennings and Nof if we want to sign a fast winger.

Would be stoked if we managed to get Welch. Fingers crossed. Cheers, Pom.

Is the club looking at options for the 9 jersey or are they happy with Liddle's progress

Or are we looking at a fullback with Mbye moving to the 9 ......
