Probably not posted correctly on this thread .... but boy did this guy take a wrong turn in his career by leaving WT. I kind of feel sorry for the guy .... just wandering around in the wilderness. His own fault but boy!

Billy Slater puts Sharks duo Aaron Woods, Matt Moylan on blast for 'letting the team down' WRITTEN BY
SPORTING NEWS

League champion Billy Slater has pointed the finger squarely at two of Cronulla's representative players for failing to pull their weight amid a concerning lean trot for the Sharks.
After Sunday's 24-22 defeat to the Brisbane Broncos, the Sharks have now lost three consecutive matches by two points despite scoring more tries than their opponents.

The easiest option is to blame the side's goal-kickers for costing Cronulla the results.
But Slater, the ex-Melbourne Storm, Queensland and Australian fullback, believes the problem runs far deeper than accuracy from the tee.
He highlighted a lack of effort from NSW and Australian players Aaron Woods and Matt Moylan as an indicator of the side's current mindset.
Twice prop Woods was exploited around the ruck, with a lazy decision not to push from the inside in defence helping to create a yawning gap for Brisbane playmaker Jake Turpin to score the winning try.

All the young guys have been competing hard and doing a great job. And then Shaun Johnson, Wade Graham [came back and the team became complacent]," Slater said on 100% Footy.
"The efforts from representative players that are coming back into this team, they're letting the team down.
"Aaron Woods, that won't be a surprise to him. Matt Moylan, that won't be a surprise to him. They're Test players."
Cronulla captain Paul Gallen agreed the run of defeats has ensured the team's deficiencies have been laid bare.
"This is what I told the boys today: Had we won the last three games, we're sitting in second spot [and] a lot of things are covered over," Gallen said.
"There's been a lot of things happen and a lot of it is based around effort, a lot of it's based around just not doing the little things right.
"I think that's been a major contributor. There were a few instances on the weekend that no-one would have known but we know as a team.
"Our plays aren't getting executed properly ... We can't win at the moment in a lot of areas."
100% Footy panellist Danny Weidler questioned whether the Sharks' excess of outside backs is disrupting the harmony in the Sutherland Shire.
Josh Dugan and Josh Morris have both been shunted to the wing at different stages to accommodate 18-year-old talent Bronson Xerri in the centres.
Gallen said the experienced duo have taken the positional switches in their stride with no complaints.
"There certainly hasn't been any chat about it at training. You've got a young guy there, Bronson Xerri, who's been outstanding," Gallen said.
"He's shown what he can do this year. He is there at the moment and obviously he's taken two senior guys' roles - Josh Morris was playing for NSW only a month ago.
"You can understand their frustration to a certain point of view but at the end of the day, it's about the team and the team getting the result.
"From my point of view, from what I've seen at training and what I've seen at the games, that's their attitude at this point in time."

@momo_amp_medo After the way he threw the club under the bus, he deserves no sympathy. What goes around comes around.

Agree with your sentiments totally ..... however I know from personal experience that sometimes make a real bad decision in in your career or your life generally and can understand to a point what he may be going through.
If that part of life hasn’t touched you yet .... then you’re lucky and tread softly mate .... experience may be waiting for you at come turn ahead.

@momo_amp_medo Has Aaron come out and said he made a bad decision? He played finals footy last year, Sharks are doing better than us this year, perhaps he still thinks he made a good decision.

Is he still with the same agent? If he had left his agent I would perceive that as a sign of remorse.

Either of those two things might soften me a bit, but otherwise, I have no sympathy for him either.

Yeah played semis with cronulla and played for australia last year. Im not convinced he'd be better off here.

No thanks to Parker, we need some talent and this kid is just solid. I’ve honestly had enough of just buying players that can do the job. French has speed, something we have NONE of, it would be nice for a bit of a change, speed can’t be coached, the other things can. I will take French thanks.

Why not get both? French on the outside of Parker - speed on the outside of a good, in form centre - win, win. They'd be affordable for us surely?

He parachuted into finals.

form isn’t constant, it fluctuates and has its ceiling varies depending on natural ability. Speed is the only natural trait that can’t be coached. Simple. Speed is class.

Ahhhh, the old Darren Clark argument.

@momo I’m loving the commentary from the likes of Slater, Lockyer and Thurston they give a more professional and analytical aspect into the game... Especially Slater he has shut down Gould on more then a few occasions (Gould the so called brains of the nrl🙄) because of his inept ability to understand certain plays during the game - in other words Billy’s not afraid to put Phil in his place if his talking 💩 again.

As a Storm-hater (to be fair, I hate many teams) who still hasn't forgiven Slater for kicking Skando in the head, he is a really good commentator.

@pawsandclaws1 Parker sounds like a Plodder with some form at the moment .. He certainly would be welcome to Plodder INC!

I think we all have at times throughout Billy’s career taken a disliked to him at certain points with the way that he played...But he makes a hell of a good commentator and makes those other numfys in the commentary box look like idiots. And if, at anytime in the future he decides to head into coaching I would be more then happy to see him running around at Concord.

Slater is terrible

Although he has started his own style of commentary....................... cringe

How so?

@Tigerlily
I am fortunate enough to have Fox so I don't have to listen to the Nine commentators doing the Time Warp week after week. On Origin nights I spend most of the time cursing the commentators for waffling on about the bleeding obvious.Slater certainly doesn't have much opposition in the box.
Nine bosses should be up on cruelty charges for trotting out Ray Warren each year. The guy is obviously struggling and any legacy from his heyday is being trashed.
