Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

Agree with this, we can keep both by grooming Hayward as a half…..
Sorry if I have misinterpreted this, but did someone mention Bailey Hayward as a halfback to replace Galvin ?
I think Hayward has all the makings of a top class controlling number 7, he’s tough, a top class defender, has a very good kicking game, has a running game good enough for him to be a running threat, has demonstrated that he can be a dominant first receiver and can play with good structure or deception when required.
Although about 4 years older than Lachie, he is still young and has his best years ahead of him.
He is a top class genuine number 7 in waiting and would only be on a very minimal contract with the Bulldogs at the moment,
The added bonus would be that by 2027 either he or Latu could play as our starting 13 or utility 14 if they are not in the starting halves.
I know the Bulldogs rate him, but I’m not so sure they are willing to back that up with his pay packet, I would be testing the waters and making him a high priority signing for 2027 and beyond.

No.

Talking about junior hooker, Jared Haywood.

Bailey Hayward is the future 9 for Dogs, I think, once they move on from Reed Mahoney.

if true it’s going to polarise the fanbase, but AJ is effectively what Skelton was in Cup last year. devastating yardage winger that is ready for more but stuck behind others on the depth chart.

always thought we wrongly pushed him inwards as a backrower as opposed to moving him to the sting and working on his flipper hands with time in reggies. Penrith have done that and we may well be the ones to benefit with what is effectively a 12 month loan.

Does Skelton wash his hands in butter?

He is not a world beater but with our lack of 2nd row depth we could use AJ as cover if we get an injury to Bird/Seyfarth/Fainu. We saw vs the Eels we literally have noone to fill in. So I would think he would be best used as a 2RF back up and not a winger where we already have Turuva, Naden, Skelton, Laulili, Staines.
