Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

You disagreeing, There's a shock.
He's well down on last year, and I'm not on my own...
I've heard it mentioned in the media Plenty.

Luai is the best Tigers half he's played with, He should have started playing better out of the gates
- if anything.
Combinations take time to grow & develop. I'm not saying he's been as good as he was last year but he hasn't been as bad as you're making him out to be. I think part of it could be a coaching issue as well... seems like we don't utilise our backrowers enough.

You are right on the culture building side of the house. We need to focus on developing a Wests Tigers that kids want to be part of. While I think Api has built the foundation the biggest change has been driven by Luai. This is also evident in the change of Api in his role on the paddock. With Luai directing play Api is much more animated in an around the ruck with hand signals and his voice and you can see chatter between him and Luai as they approach the ruck.

I know Luai's numbers are down on what he produced at the Riff but in a different role he is really making his mark. His influence on the culture at the club can't be underestimated and I think he is more important to keep than Api - although in my perfect world we would find a way to keep them both and TDS.
For sure mate, Luai has made a big difference. It makes you wonder whether he is the reason Penrith are struggling in defence so much. I'll add Turuva in there too, but I think together, they make a strong leadership combo.

Would just like to see it embedded into the club and have the next leaders coming through before Api leaves.

I don't think TDS can play 80 right now anyway, so there's nothing wrong with a TDS/Api rotation for a couple more years. Particularly if he's playing the way he is now.

Couple of left field suggestions, and only have a very small sample size to judge them on but as backup forwards could we look at.
Jack Todd - Bulldogs lock that terrorised us in the 1st trial.
Jacob Sykes - plays for manly lower grades, and played in the all stars game earlier in the year, brought real aggression and impact in that game.

Will be supporting the Sharks next weekend and every team that plays against Parramatta. Really hoping they run stone motherless and get picked apart by expansion clubs.
My hate for Parra started to subside last year. Thankfully losing the spoonbowl and last week with Moses doing the claw celebration has put them back where they belong in my head.

Hmmm .. I wonder what are the chances that we might sign two players from Hull KR ..
I've said it previously that Richo & coach Willie Peters have a very good relationship from Rabbits days.

And last week in the media over there Peters said he will be losing Tyrone May back to Australia at the end of the season because he has the ambition of playing with his brothers.

If it's 2 players, not many others are NRL quality & under 30yo except for Mikey Lewis, Elliot Minchella & Jai Whitbread. And not sure whether Michella & Whitbread are that good.

Sam Fainu is not having much of an attacking season - due to new combinations and a struggling attack overall

He has been an absolute monster in defence. He is hitting hard, forcing errors, leading the line speed and doing plenty of yardage work recently too

Sure he's not scoring many tries. But I'd argue what he's doing this year for us is even more important. The attack will come - his commitment in defence can't be taught.
