Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

Didn’t Lomax just sign at Parramatta? Why are they letting him go already ? He is one of their best …

We also need three forwards … that’s where you win games …. Although you can lose games in the backs with crappy defence …. We know all about that over the years ..
I’m jumping on the back of other comments that we could possibly ask for Lomax in return for Galvin in 2026.
Would the Eels consider it ? Maybe not, but they are going to be desperate to land Galvin by 2026, so we might as well push for someone who could be very valuable to us in return.
Lomax publicly stated he went to the Eels to play as a centre and already finds himself on the wing, so it’s possible he’s not happy with that.
I think most people, myself included think he is a better winger, but would he be a better right centre option for us than Starford To’a ? I like To’a and he’s having a breakout season, but he’s not as big, not as fast, not as skilful and not as good under a high ball as what Lomax is, plus he can’t goal kick, therefore it’s fairly safe to say Lomax would be a big upgrade at right centre and partnered with Taylan May at left centre we would certainly have a dangerous looking backline.

Yeah ..give me Lomax …but I suspect ithats another pipe dream … I got this nagging feeling that people are going to be disappointed In what the swap return is for Galvin..

I can’t argue ..Parramatta the club and the fans are doing plenty of splooging about him though
This will be a controversial post and even though I’ve doubted him in the past, this player is growing on me, showing plenty of signs of being a much more complete player and has no doubt been one of our best so far this season.
But if it was possible to land Zac Lomax and Taylan May, I would then also be pushing to land Dominic Young to give us a dynamic looking backline.
How could we fit all of them in ? The only way I see would be to offload Jahream Bula and move Sunia Turuva to fullback.
Why would I do that ? I believe Turuva at fullback could be very Dylan Edwards like and I’m not comfortable with Bula’s contract clause which has him supposedly earning 900k per season from 2026 and also being managed by Isaac Moses I can’t see it ending well for our club,
Imagine a backline of;

1. Sunia Turuva
2. Dominic Young
3. Zac Lomax
4. Taylan May
5. Jeral Skelton
6. Latu Fainu
7. Jerome Luai

Plenty of hard yards each game to assist our forwards amongst that back 5.

Zac Lomax is not a centre, nor would he come. He had the option last year.
Sunia Turuva will never be a better fullback than Bula.

I see Penisini & Hopgood being the most realistic trade bait out of Eels so I'll give you

1. Bula
2. Turuva
3. Penisini
4. Taylan
5. Skelton
6. Latu / AD
7. Jarome
8. Terrell
9. Api
10. Pole
11. Samuela
12. KPP
13. Hopgood

I wouldn’t complain about that team either.
I get the feeling the Eels would find Penisini more valuable than Lomax.
