Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

I don’t see Seyfarth as a Prop,
Gets held up and pushed back most runs due mainly because of his physical limitations (not bulky enough)
The main issue I see with him is he has the body for a 2nd rower but hasn’t the speed to worry opposition defenders.
He also runs straight at the opposition shoulder and not at the gap between defenders .. a lot of our players think you have to run at the defence to make it easy for them . LOBB made an art form of it

I will be happy if he is available to play for WTs during SOO. I am sure he will be selected for Samoa.

Daley isn't picking him because he's a tiger, surely he gets a chance even on an extended bench. He's been the form prop all year, apart from last week's disaster where the whole team were on another planet he's had a stellar start to the season. In saying that Daley has coached how many series, how many has he won. Personally think the guys a moron.

I agree....but I do think May's extra minutes may hurt him. The last two weeks I have noticed him a bit more tired and last week in particular melbourne exploited him late. Against the Dragons there were a few times I also noticed him struggling to get back onside due to excessive minutes. I know everyone says trust the coach bla bla, but I think it is hurting him a bit, and I also really only think we play him that much because our depth quality is poor.

The biggest issue with what buzz said was “the way he spoke to me on the phone gave me insight into why the playing groups go off him”
I’m no Madge fan as a coach , as I think the young players don’t sync up with that aged hard edged coach , but buzz is dead set off his head comparing the 2 things because he was told to go F himself by someone he’s been writing negative articles about since his days at Souths 10 years ago.
And like Gordy was saying there’s only one Bellamy . I’m not even sure the Bellamy style works for him outside of Melbourne .
Everyone knows you go to melb , you’re going into the nrl version of the army , for good and bad . The system , the coach , the reputation , are all part of the package when you’re weighing up a Melbourne contract .
I just don’t think that type of coaching works outside of places like melb , and even Canberra where you’re away from thr 24/7 of nrl media.
I’m not defending Madge, he could be on the nose, I just don’t wanna give any air to BS artists who only print with an agenda to get more clicks.

With 2 new teams and salary cap increasing mixed with reduced squad limits players will be getting paid.

People need to reset their expectations on what players are worth. 600k is now becoming the old 350k player. Still well below what other premier sports salaries are.
100% correct.

People need to re-adjust their perspective of salaries. The cap has gone up so much in the last few years its now at 12mil. Not to mention an extra 12m has been introduced into the market with the Dolphins and another 25mil (increasing again) to come in with Perth and PNG.

Players on 1million 3 years ago were taking up 10% of a teams cap. Now 1mil only takes up 8%.

The minimum going rate for any starting player (top 13) by next year will be 550-600k+ (around 5% of the cap).
